Re: Sonic2hasthebestmusiceverOMG
Cut out the Chemical Plant and "unused" version of Mystic Cavern, and replace them with the oddly-omitted Casino Night and Oil Ocean, and you've got a point
Sonic 1 had better boss music, though. Great little ominous ditty.

Re: Sonic2hasthebestmusiceverOMG
Eh, I always thought it was one of the weaker tracks in the game...then again, it may just be the mental association with the level itself. Running around on the tubes was fun, but once the chemicals start rising it's a little annoying, with the flipping platforms and the moving blocks and such. Not hard...just not that fun.Skynet wrote:Get out! Besides, it stood in between the traditional green first stage and the insanely awesome Casino Night Zone, arguably the two best parts of the game.

Re: Sonic2hasthebestmusiceverOMG
1) Chemical Plant Zone is the single best Sonic track ever in my opinion.
2) There isn't an unused Mystic Cave song. Casino Night, Mystic Cavern and Emerald Hill all had different music in 2-player mode.
3) I liked the level, but I thought the Casino Night music was pretty meh. It fit in with the theme I guess but its nothing cool to rock out to.

Maybe not the best, but my favorite Sonic song is Starlight Zone. It just makes me so happy.
Do you guys have any video game music that just makes you incredibly happy and you can't explain it? Like you're at peace with the world when you listen to it. Here are a couple more of my happy songs:
Goonies 2 - Password Entry
Super Mario Bros. 2 - Ending (the lullaby part)

I'm too tired to find a video of it right now, it's 04:34 AM here =P.

You might like "Kusuriyubi no Kesshin" by Dreams Come True--they worked on the soundtrack for the first two games, and based Starlight Zone on that track. There's also "Sweet Sweet Sweet", which is almost identical to the ending theme of the second game.Strapping Scherzo wrote:Maybe not the best, but my favorite Sonic song is Starlight Zone. They also retain the rights to the general Sonic theme music heard throughout the first two games (opening screens, end credits, invincibility music). This is why there are ROMs available of Sonic Spinball that are identical to the final build in every way except for them featuring the more traditional theme music--it was only discovered at the last minute that they did not have the rights to it, which forced the hasty writing of a pretty naff replacement.

I love you man... I absolutly love this song... I love the way the minibosses play it to... except when I hear their version... it is pretty touching and I get teary eyed
