I nearly ate cat yesterday

Post by ETR »

So, I was eating a "fried dumpling" at a chinese buffet here in town, and the second it touched my mouth, I nearly vomited, worst thing I had ever tasted.

Anyways, when I asked what meat it was, the waitress got angry/worried and said "pork". Problem is, it didn't look like any pork I had ever had, so I asked a buddy of mine who's parents run the best chinese resturant in town. He said I probably had cat.

That's awesome.

It doesn't seem like cat would taste radically different than pork. Maybe your friend was lying?

I don't believe all these claims about chinese places cooking dog and cat. Why would a place that has to go through tons of meat per day go trough the trouble of trying to order dog or cat meat when they can buy legal pork that would no doubt be a lot cheaper. Do you know how much it would cost to buy dog and cat meat for chinese place?? And no I don't think they are out back catching strays and skinnign them alive so they can cook them. Yes I know overseas they consider it a fancy meal and such, but they are not overseas.

I don't know about chinese people but south korean people eat dog meat and have farms for them like if they were chicken. I saw it on the soccer world championship 2002. A link: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/asia-p ... 651543.stm

I think it's no good selling cat as pig, they could cook cat but they should tell you what you are paying for

You know, different cultures. Here we eat octopus, squids and snails and many people from other countries can't imagine eating those things

Chinese restaurants in the US have to get inspected like any other place. You didnt eat cat, you didnt almost eat cat. My girlfriends best friend's parents own and run a chinese restaurant. No cat on the menu. Maybe if you were in the bowels of chinatown you could get something like that, but even there Im sure you would have to know the secret password. Buying pork from a vendor is far less expensive than finding stray cats, gutting them, skinning them, treating them, then cooking them. With the pork they just unwrapp, chop and cook. Its far easier and if they want to keep cooking in America they have to pass the meat inspection. I wouldnt worry about it.
Shut that cunts mouth before I come over there and fuck start her head

A few years ago a Chinese resturant near here got shut down for having frozen cats in the freezer. It wasn't open very long, so not too many people ate the cat.

It really isn't that hard to keep the inspectors at bay.

I thought this was going to be a thread about eating a different type of cat.

Once I ate at a dollar Chinese resteraunt and a piece of orange chicken had a bone in it, tasted funny and looked like a human thumb. I doubt it was but it turned me off of orange chicken for a few years.

Many chinese restaurants have a "real menu" so to speak, you'll usually have to ask for it in fluent chinese though.

I highly doubt it was cat. There is no reason for it to be. Although they do eat it occasionaly in china and I'm sure other places of the world, it's not out of despiration.

That experience is surely useful in explaining American Chinese restaurant situations...
