What languages do you speak?
What languages do you speak?
I speak German and Polish. (I was born in Austria but I grew up in Poland.) When I was 10 years old I moved to Munich and went to school there. I'm still here.
I learned French, English and Italian at school.

Re: What languages do you speak?
French and English are the only languages I can say I speak fluently.
I was raised speaking English. I was taught French from Quebecois grandparents and teachers in middle school, high school, and college.
But I do know a few phrases in Spanish and Italian, and I can understand them to a reasonable degree if spoken slowly and clearly enough along with German and Portuguese. I could also read and understand these languages, as well as Latin (and probably other Romance languages) in writing if I had to.

What the hell is this? No Latin?
I can speak English at a grammar führer level and Latin at a pretty decent level. I also took two semesters of Ancient Greek, one semester of German, and one semester of Spanish. I plan on learning Italian and/or more Spanish when I get the time.

Re: What languages do you speak?
I only speak Portuguese. I can sing some songs in English, but only because I heard them before and know how the pronounce should be. Coming up with my own phrases and pronouncing them is much harder.
The only reason why I can't speak English properly is lack of training, but it's hard to train when nobody around speaks in English. Sometimes I think about using voice chat to talk to English speakers so I can get used to it, but I would feel really awkward doing this.
On a side note, the Japanese pronounce is very easy for Portuguese speakers to learn. It's only painful to learn how to read and write.

Re: What languages do you speak?
I've got a few semesters' worth of German and Japanese. I'm stupid with vocab, but I understand sentence structure enough to string coherent phrases, and have excellent pronunciation.
I'm rusty on hiragana and katakana, but could easily pick up both again with a few days of review.

English and some Spanish, though I read and write Spanish better than I speak it.

Re: What languages do you speak?
I took French and Russian in high school. I can't speak either fluently any more, but I'm sure that I could at least carry on a short conversation in either.
Of course, I know English as well (for increasingly less obvious reasons ).

Re: What languages do you speak?
I used to be able to speak some Latin, but it's been 8 years since my last Latin class, so I've pretty much forgotten everything.
So yeah, just English.

Re: What languages do you speak?
Took Greek for pretty much my entire primary school years. Can only remember basic things like numbers and how to write my name now German for the first 2 years of high school. Forgotten most things of that too, but being that I have a german father and grandparents, along with my gf's father being german, I haven't completely lost everything. I can understand a fair bit, but just can't really say much.
