lol no thanks, it's not that I don't think that it will work, it's just I cant afford the repairs if something goes wrong :S
I've heard of heaps of crazy things like people using canola oil as fuel, amongst other strange things.
I'll only use an additive if it is sold as a fuel additive, or it is sold premixed into the fuel.
They're starting to bring out lots of ethanol mixed fuels in Australia at the moment. I usually fill up with premium unleaded, someone I know has recommended a new fuel that you can get at Caltex. Apparently it is a 10% ethanol mix, has all the benefits of premium unleaded, is the best fuel for small 4 cylinder cars and sells cheaper then regular unleaded.
At least if it destroys my engine I can hold Caltex responsible

I thought that they might work and was considering getting one.Egotistical EvilN wrote:Do those tornados work?
Luckily a mechanic I know was doing some tests involving them and advised me to hold off wait till he had tried them out.
The verdict was:
* costs $200 for the unit
* costs labour to install it
* saves no money
Not a worthy investment.

Yeah, but on the same note, gas will eat though the styrofoam cup as well.toastman wrote:Acetone can and will eat through just about anything synthetic. For a good quick example, take a styrofoam cup and fill it to the brim with acetone. So I say, user beware.
That's a trick, the acetone will eat through the styrofoam so quickly that the bottom will melt before you get anywhere near the middle, much less the top.

I found this page, http://peswiki.com/index.php/Directory: ... l_Additive
It has results for various vehicles submitted by different people who tried it.
This is very interesting, will have to look into it.

that too but also a lot of people (i dont think) understand how much acetone is being put in.SonOfMog wrote:Yeah, but on the same note, gas will eat though the styrofoam cup as well.toastman wrote:Acetone can and will eat through just about anything synthetic. i mean, that situation could be said about all of the food we eat. by itself, a lot of the products will eat through stuff, even kill us. but when if it's added in a small enough ratio (this case being 1:3000) then it wont do us any harm, and sometimes even help us.
either way, i think my next fill up i am going to try this, or whenever i have eough money, ill test this out on 10 gallons...
