How do you load a saved game?

Anything DreamSNES-related can be asked in this forum, such as general questions about the emulator, how to burn it, etc.

How do you load a saved game?

Post by Rated R »

I've saved so many games on to the VMU yet I can't load a damn thing.
My Chrono won't load
My Mario World won't load
My DKC won't load
I need help.

Oh, by the way... how do you access the secret game????

I don't think any saves from previous versions will work...

I know but I've been saving games like mad with this new version. Yet I still can't load the saves. I look into the VMU and all saves are there 2blocks each. Still though I can't load them.

Zelda-save-problem confirmed

Post by FarmerCuckoo »

I only tested it with The Legend of Zelda so far, but I've got the same problem. It does save the file onto my VMU and if I restart the game from within the game (selecting save and quit in the game itself) my save is still there. If I however play another game, re-open Zelda from the ROM-menu or reset my dreamcast the save-game is gone.

I turned of auto-save to prevent overwriting my previous save when starting the game, but it matters not.

Hopefully it's a small bug that will be patched soon enough. I don't feel much for having my dreamcast turned on for 2 weeks straight in order to not lose my saved game.

With the auto-save option turned on it saves whenever there is a change in the SRAM. You see this happening when you see a small VMU-icon in the top-left of your screen.

With the auto-save option turned off you save when you return to the menu from the game.
