Yeah, I agree. I think Poodle Hat is probably my favorite album of his, and Straight Outta Lynwood is looking really good.

I'm very sorry to say that the AOL "First View" Premiere of the "White & Nerdy" video has been cancelled.

Apparently, the video has already leaked online, and AOL doesn't feel comfortable doing a "World Premiere" promotion for a video that a number of people have seen already. (I can understand songs leaking, but a video? How'd THAT happen?)

Anyway, it's really a bummer... it would have been great promotion for the album... but hey, life goes on.

So...

That's pretty common to have happen the last couple weeks before an album release. If I remember my high school days correctly, The Offspring's "Americana" leaked *months* before it came out. Of course, the album had been sitting on the studio shelf for a while....

On the other side of things, I'd much rather the video get out this way than via AOL. I think a lot more people are likely to see a "viral" campaign like this (intentional or not) than if it had debuted on AOL's ad-filled, Internet-Explorer-only piece of junk player.

Also, I'm very seriously considering buying this album. I didn't get Poodle Hat, because my friend played it for me and it was kind of disappointing. A lull, if you will. But his last two albums before that were brilliant, and if the rest of the album is like these first videos, I can definitely get behind that.
