DCThemes needs a new home (and a new webmaster).

DCThemes is a project I started a while back to give people using DCFactory a common place to go for themes.

It grew, and grew, and it outgrew me. I don't have the bandwidth anymore (200-300mb a day), nor do I have the time to keep it updated with new themes.

What I'm asking for, is someone to take over. I will give you all the code (I will even finish the admin panel, to let you edit and delete themes, not only add

), and all the themes I have so far (around 140). The site runs under PHP4, with MySQL as the database backend, and was developed on a Linux server.

If you can contribute some webspace to this project (be it file storage, or php/mysql hosting), or would like to take over as the new maintainer, please drop me an e-mail (krypt@mountaincable.net). Otherwise, the site is going to die from lack of updates (I just don't have the time).

well, if one man isnt right for the job........why dont you just get a ton of us here to help you manage it, im sure there are tons off ppl in these forums that wouldnt mind helping out with a project like this, i mean even this website isnt entirely run by one person, its run not only by some other ppl who contribute to it majorly, but its also run by the ppl, so what i would suggest is to find one person who you think is totally capable of running something like this and getting a small team together to run the website, i myself would be glad to help, and for the leader of such a team i would suggest |darc| he also posts on these forums, he also runs the kickback forums, he has webspace, and since the forums he has havent been seeing much traffic, im sure hed prolly like to help (ill ask him for you anyway though) so just think about what ive said, and contemplate if this is an idea you could see going for it, im sure a lot of the artists and webdesigners here in this forum would also like to help

id definitly be glad to throw in a helping hand at making stuff for updates and such, i havent tried a dc factory theme yet ill go later and see what they look like but im pretty much a dork who sits on his ass all day wishing he had something to do

yah though webspace and bandwith is the issue though, lets see what we can pull together...

I'll do it, kRYPT. I've got 16 GB of transfer per month and 200 MB. If this doesnt surpass that, I'll be more than happy to do it.

Good news: |darc| will be taking over control of the site, and it will not die a painful death. Since I'll be releasing it, I'm going to have to finish writing the admin panel for it (I did way too much by hand).

I'm sure |darc| wouldn't mind some help keeping current on newly released themes, so if you want to be involved, reply to this thread.

yeah, the only bandwidth i have is like 1GB a month at homestead, sorry.

well |darc| already runs the kickback forums, so im sure hell incorporate that into the dcthemes website somehow, or maybe even lost the kickback and make it all dcthemes, who knows
