Use an old PsOne screen. Just do a search for psone screen hack you should find it soon enough. As far as I know only one portable has been made and it sure was not by me. Look around here for info on it if you can I rember him posting about it here. Good luck.

Why the PS Dpad and stick were used are beyond me. :x

If you're not gonna use the DC one because you don't like it, or whatever atleast use a GOOD Dpad replacement.

well if you have been inside of a DC controller you would know that the dpad is huge, and the analog stick is pretty large as well when you compare them to the ps dpad and stick. i think it wouldve been kinda hard to fit them inside, or it would just make the thing a bit thicker and harder to hold.

also it isnt fake, he used to sell them for i think $400 but he would only take like 3 orders cause they take a while to make and a lot of other systems he had orders for.

the guy who made the portable dreamcast powered it with some rechargable batteries that were 50-60 dollars i believe.

quite simple, the mini itx board converts a battery voltage to +12 +5 -5 -12 and 3,3V, just ignore the 5V stb and -12V -5V and wire 12 5 and 3,3V to the dreamcast.

What 4,8V cell battery ?

no you can't without a dc-dc converter, the dreamcast will work at 4,8V because it's close enough of 5V but it won't work for 3,7V.
And you better use a single battery and a converter that gives you the 3 needed voltages.

it seems they feed 5V where 3,3V is needed, whil this may work, it's prone to overheating and failure.

would it work if one was to do this? can u guys understand that?

3,3V 5v 12V
{GND 2x}[1,5+][1,5+][1,5+]^[1,5+]^ ---------- {GND}[12V+]^

btw nimh AA's are like 1.4 full charge and 1.1-1.2 dead so not sure is saying 1.5V is accurate with nimh

^=like wire, or whatever, to pin

don't know if it would work, you'd really better use a regulator from a single battery than what you suggest (a pack will likely drain out before the others and it'll be difficult to keep each battery to it's nominal charge, and it's not garanteed to work well).
But you can try it.

was thinking of doing the 5v voltage regulator off the 12V so 12v in the 12v pin, 5v in teh 5v pin, and then just aa's in the 3,3v. how much of the power is drained via 3,3?
