What do you expect from Dali?

I have it hanging in my living room. This film really intrigues me - is it on DVD or anything?

I've seen a melting clock before, but I've never actually seen the painting as a whole.

I saw this a few months ago. Interesting short as an artistic piece. Has one of the most effectively flinch-inducing moments I've seen in a film in the first couple minutes.

I also found some of it pretty funny in how bizzare they are - the guy dragging a piano with priests and a dead mule on it, for instance.

There's a DVD with a documentary about it that is three times longer than the short. It's expensive though, like $30 last I checked.

As a final note, there isn't any deeper meaning to the film. Dali and the other guy who made it (a very good film maker who also wrote the music that is now attached to it... Can't remember his name though) deliberately impossible to follow.

Weird, was at the tate gallery looking at a bunch of Dali paintings today...

It's a shame the film quality is so low, it makes some of the details impossible to make out. Great stuff though, it reminds me of my times in media classes, watching bizarre early experimental cinema.

Last time I was at Tate they were playing this film. The director is Luis Bunuel by the way.

Ball State has the coolest book ever; an original printing of Alice in Wonderland illustrated by Dali. It was the most amazing book ever to look through. And probably the most expensive book I've ever held too.

Because I couldn't give two shits about art? I've taken two art classes before and the name never came up, and if it did it's probably because I wasn't paying attention. But I doubt it.

Prepare to be mindfreaked:

Andy Warhol directed movies too.

[all right, a lot of people know that... specifically the short where he filmed the face of some guy while he was getting a bj, or the 16 hour camera fixed on the Empire State building.]

He also did a few extremely long take films, one with a 30 minuteish take about two gay men.
