Great-grandmother died last night

Post by CupNoodle »

She was 99. I've met her about 10 times in my life. The Kansas-side of the family wants to fly me out with my family to the middle of nowhere (pop. 33) so I can be a pallbearer. I have to work so I said no and now I feel pretty bad, but I mean, I barely knew her.

That sucks, dying at 99. It's like she almost got there. I'd love to be able to live a century.
It's thinking...

Dude you should go if you can get off work. I understand you barely know her but people that old are like legacies in families. Also it will give you a nice chance to see another part of the country and I'm sure there will be a boatload of great food.

I have been to funerals before for people I barely knew so I do understand where your comming from. It is a little awkward but funerals don't last that long. Just a few hours.

My one grandfather died 15 years before I was born. It sucks.

It might have been different if they hadn't asked me to be pallbearer.

Grandparents have to be appreciated while they're around... I didn't realize that until they started dropping.

I would try my best to go...

But I'd be pissed if I died at 99.

I've got one grandparent left. She's batshit insane. But whatever. I don't talk to my relatives because they're all batshit insane.

Why would the passing of a great-grandparent be great?

I only have one surviving grandparent, my grandmother (she's 80 years old), and I only see her once a year when my family and I go to Baltimore to see her....so, I recommend going..

Every year, I vow to see her more than once a year...and never do
