Re: Dont open your NES classic edition!
Same in the UK. Just over a month before Christmas and retailers can't even say if they'll be getting any more stock in.
Nintendo are horrendous when it comes to supplying demand. If I were cynical I'd think they were doing it on purpose to have the 'hottest' product but what use is that when they've literally got no units available to sell.

I got the last one in Gamestop and sold it before I walked out the door to someone for $180.

I've got one, the thing is ADORABLE. Ebay scalpers are the absolute worst, open your stuff and play with it, we'll all be dead soon.

Re: Dont open your NES classic edition!
To be fair I've seen many on eBay starting at 99p with no reserve then selling for £100+. If you're letting the market decide the price and still getting 2-3x the RRP for it then I can only buy the stupid people prepared to pay that much.not just souLLy now wrote:I've got one, the thing is ADORABLE. It would have been great if they programmed the flashing red light in as a hidden Easter egg.
I'm thinking of breaking out my real NES from storage. I love playing 8-bit Nintendo around Christmas.

True, I never know whether Nintendo are utterly inept at judging consumer demand or if they're trying to create false demand/panic buying with scarcity- it just doesn't seem likely they're trying to push up demand though if they don't have the intent (or ability) to fulfil it.Specially Cork wrote:To be fair I've seen many on eBay starting at 99p with no reserve then selling for £100+. Yeah I don't get it. The high demand has seen the story in all the newspapers which is good free marketing for Nintendo, but then the end of each article is just every major store confirming they won't have any more stock before Christmas. Pointless.not just souLLy now wrote:True, I never know whether Nintendo are utterly inept at judging consumer demand or if they're trying to create false demand/panic buying with scarcity- it just doesn't seem likely they're trying to push up demand though if they don't have the intent (or ability) to fulfil it.Specially Cork wrote:To be fair I've seen many on eBay starting at 99p with no reserve then selling for £100+. Yeah, they might have undershot the supply this time. But I was feeling that back when they were shorting plastic figurines.Specially Cork wrote:Same in the UK. Just over a month before Christmas and retailers can't even say if they'll be getting any more stock in.

Re: Dont open your NES classic edition!
I got 2 anyway. Tesco and Very both got stock in. Sold out in 20 minutes. The other one is obviously going on eBay for auction.

Yeah, this is dumb. I wanted to get this for my sister for Christmas, but they likely won't be back in stock before then.
It's thinking...

Re: Dont open your NES classic edition!
I was reading about this at the weekend, I'll definitely do it at some point. I saw not all mappers are supported but hopefully even that could be patched in eventually.
Duck Tales, Maniac Mansion, Snake Rattle and Roll and Life Force Salamander are the 4 biggies missing that I played to death as a kid.

Re: Dont open your NES classic edition!
I stuck my modded one on eBay at 99p and it sold for £155. So feel free to open the box; just stick more roms on it.
