only watched the first so far. Kinda cool they mentioned Demolition Racer, I used to play the shit out of that game. I wonder how it has aged.

Re: Neo XYX / Zaikusu delayed until January 2014
That's a good point. I mean, to be honest, the sheer number of games coming out this winter is a little overkill. I sure can't afford all of them
Can't wait for Xyx, though.

Re: Neo XYX / Zaikusu delayed until January 2014
Yeah, I heard about this. Apparently they're at least going to add a new screen mode or something in the extra time that they've got. Probably better than getting an incomplete game in any case. Still not looking forward to waiting all the way till January to play this.

Re: Dreamcast turns 15 in Japan
I also didn't vote. I didn't feel like I've played enough DC games to make a judgement on the top 200. even like the top 5 or something. Although I'm sure plenty of people did vote who haven't played that many DC games. In retrospect I probably should have tried, anyway.

Re: Dreamcast turns 15 in Japan
Just read the top 200, and it's kind of surprising which games ended up in the top 200 (of course the top 25 or so were less surprising). Also: hurray for Sturmwind making it so high! Kinda a shame that the Sakura Wars series ended up so low on the list though, considering how popular that series wa...

I've always heard that the DC has a surprisingly large survival horror library. Looks like when all of your projects are completed this will be even more true. cool!

Re: What are the most interesting prototypes available for D
It probably doesn't quite count, since it's homebrew, but I played the unfinished version of Drill (a shmup), and it looked interesting, though not all that original or anything. kind of a shame that that was never completed.

Re: Classic Game Room review of STURMWIND
It is pretty fun to be able to repair your weapons to keep going through a level, and also switching weapons in order to better be able to make it through a stage. I especially like the Nordwest, because it helps a lot with a lot of the more tricky segments of levels / bosses. It can totally allevia...

Re: Classic Game Room review of STURMWIND
Yeah, I know what you mean. I probably never would have tried playing shmups in general if it weren't for the Dreamcast Scene. I probably never would have realised how fun they are.

Re: Neo XYX/Zaikusu YT review & basic Dreamcast port complet
Finally broke down and preordered! I don't have enough money for this year's dreamcast scene I don't think. BTW, does anyone know how XYX is supposed to be pronounced? I was just saying the individual letters before, but I heard someone in a review say it "Zikes." I suppose that if you wro...

Re: Classic Game Room review of STURMWIND
I think he also reviewed Fast Striker 1.5 and Dux 1.5
seemed to like both of them, though I suspect them being on the dreamcast gives them extra points w/ him. He'd like them even more if they were on the Vectrex!
I also tend to like CGR.

Re: New working DC optical drive emulator prototype boots ga
O_O no way! I never thought this would actually ever come to fruition (even to this extent). This is the last step the DC needs to become immortal (assuming the non-laser parts of it are as durable as we think). Not to mention useful for being able to revive one of my dead DCs. let's hope that this ...

Total Control 3 odd behavior
So, I have a total control 3 (SAT controller to DC adapter). The button mapping seems to make sense, with ABXY the same, and RL mapped to CZ as well as RL, but it won't let me use the saturn controller's RL buttons in one specific situation. In the game Gunbird 2, R / C is default mapped to autofire...

Re: dreamcast graphics comparison
I remember reading a thread somewhere a while back where someone had done polycounts of various dreamcast games using nullDC, and found that, in terms of polycounts Dead or Alive 2 (unsurprising) and Triggerheart Exelica (much more surprising) had the highest. I don't know which games he tested thou...

Yeah, Rez. I've played that. definately gonna pick that up at some point when I've got more money. ikaruga, too, probably. I've seen them both for non-astronomical prices used on ebay (around $50 for Rez (J) and $60 or $70 for Ikaruga). Either that, or I'll buy them on another platform at some point...

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
@Fiddler: Thanks for the advice on DC Shooters. I'm sure I'll get others at some point in the future. Ikaruga especially looks cool, but the DC version is obviously really pricey. I know it's also been rereleased on one or two other platforms, but all I have is a Dreamcast, and a Sega Genesis that's...

Re: Post everytime that you buy a new game...
Just bought Gunbird 2 and Rayman 2 for Dreamcast off Amazon. neither has arrived, though GB2 has shipped Why of all dreamcast shmups Gunbird 2? you ask? (Oh wait, you didn't? well, I'll tell you anyway) It's because I was looking for something relatively straightforward gameplaywise, and cheap to tr...
