You can get a PS2 to Dreamcast converter from Lik-Sang, but it's 15 dollars, plus the cost of the keyboard. I got the cheap Dreamcast keyboard from Funco Land for 10 dollars and I didn't have to wait for it in the mail.

To answer your original question, no you cannot mod PC Keyboards / Mice to work on a DC.
In order for peripherals to be recognised by the DC they need a special Maple Bus chip, as far as I am aware you cannot buy these chips off the shelf, and even if you could it would be very complex to get it to work.
The converters from Lik-Sang are the only way to get PC stuff to work on the DC.
I hope this helps

blowing up
what happens if the little converter blows up.
is the dc toast?
id rather spend $10 on an adapter and $1.00 on a PC keyboard and mouse(that i can replace )
then $30 for a DC keyboard and mouse.
Besides wait 2 years and you'll be ale to get DC keyboard for $3.00

Re: blowing up
You need TWO adapters one for the mouse, one for the keyboard.Grandpa Simpson wrote: id rather spend $10 on an adapter and $1.00 on a PC keyboard and mouse(that i can replace )
