Front page loading problems...

What's up with dcemulation.org's front page? It wont load properly anymore...

I get the logo and the top of the screen but it wont load any of the news or the menus (only by the power of book-marking can I make it here back to the boards).

When it trys to load in the banner-ad there is a long wait until it says "This Page cannot be displayed" WITHIN the banner-ad under the DCEmu logo...

Can anyone help?

It's loading fine for me, maybe there's a problem with your ISP?

No, I have the problem too. It is the damn banner ad keeping me from seeing anything. Also, it is not my ISP, because I have at least T1.

Its done that to me before, it stops it and starts again.

Nothing to do with my ISP. I'm not having any problems with any other sites or anything...

I still manage to load in the title pics but the rest of the page wont load.

The banner ad displays a "this page cannot be displyed" message.

I've never seen anything quite like it... (Blimey!)

same prob here but it loads rest of page after 5 mins.

I have broadband so its not my end thats at fault for being slow

Its always done weird stuff like that for me. I think its with all their scripts, such as for the side bar, the news bar, the poll, and all that crap. And at home I have DSL. Here at school where I am right now, I think we have a T1.

Well.... all I know is that for the last few days I havent been able to access the news or anything!

Could one of the managers check the script? There's gotta be something you can do to check it works for everyone.

Yep.

The "This page cannot be displayed" message appears INSIDE the advert banner and then the page discontinues loading altogether! No more 'egg-timer' logo on the curser, no loading bar at the bottom of the screen and no more browser activity altogether!

Don't shut up! We need to keep this thread near the top of the page otherwise no-one with power over the site will see it and just ignore it!

Then I'll have to go to Console Vision for the rest of my days.... hey... not such a bad idea! Maybe I could do a "Hasney" and go AWOL!

I decided to ride out waiting for the front page to load and.... success! It actually loaded!

BUT it took forever!!! I really think someone should do something about this...

I think there is waaaay to much useless code. Maybe a downgrade of the design woud make it load faster.

The front page has NEVER loaded in for me since they got that damn pop-up so I just read all the news on Consolevision and use these forums (Since i enjoy correcting people and CVision is usually more informed forums

)

Ohm and the only person who can do anything about it really is 007....

LOL@Van, i told ya... It takes AGES! I agree with the text only version but i think it would be better to try downgrading it first. It takes a long long while to load. Were driving people to CV!!! Van dont go, i like ya jokes!

The bit that takes the logest to load is the pop-up and banner ad so unless 007 wants to stop his revenue you gonna have to put up with it or leave....

If it's the pop-up that's slowing things down get a pop-up killer. There are also ways to stop banner advertising from loading.
