Best Game music for DC...

Post by PZO »

Are there any DC fans who loves music as much as i do?
Do you think there are any games out for the DC that has so great tunes that it would be worth buying the game only for the music. What are your favourites?

Well my 2 favoirites are MSR & Jet Set Radio...

Well, I quite like the soundtrack to Dave Mirras Freestyle BMX - its a tony hawks clone, but its really quite fun, and dirt cheap nowadays...

and JSR kicks ass; GTA2 has got a pretty good soundtrack too come to think of it...

Hands down, Street Fighter III 3rd Strike. O yes, I cann't forget Space Channel 5. That opening song just makes me think of Austin Powers busting a move on the dance floor, and it helps me to get into rhythm for the game (if I don't dance to it while I play, I will play really poorly).

I enjoyed the music in Grandia 2 also. Nice and mellow with beautiful vocals.

My fave soundtrack is probably tony Hawks 2, Jet Set Radio or MSR

Final Fantasy 7 Final Fantasy 10 Chrono Cross, Zelda link to the past.. Oh wait they wasn't on the DC.

Well I haven't heard any good music out of any of my DC games. Closest to being good is skies of arcadia and it isn't really that special.

Some of the best themes ever was on the SNES though I think.

Shenmue, JSR and then Skies Of Arcadia, also does anyone know where to get the JSR tunes from? As my Jap copy doesn't allow you to play the games music? (i think it's in the US/Uk and re-release in Japan 'De La JSR')

I actually prefer THS over THPS2 (when I heard "Police Truck" for the first time in about 15 years during the opening credits, I just knew it was going to be a blast), but they're both good, better than the Crazy Taxi ones, I think.

The MSR soundtrack is great too, very original, and goes very well with the driving, although playing for more than an hour at a time, it gets a bit monotonous.

Psyvariar 2 also deserves a mention, the music turns the game into a trip, flows well, and really suits the mood.
