This is kind of a vague question, for a number of reasons. Best what? What criteria? Plus, they're from a number of generations of systems, which makes choosing a best hard.
If you're asking my favorite, I'd have to say, by generation:
8-Bit: NES - Just the sheer support for the system. I loved my Super Mario and my Final Fantasy and my Zelda. SMS may have had some superior stuff, no doubt, just not enough to make it my favorite
16-Bit: Super NES - The lack of RPGs on the Genesis drove me away from it. Though it's games were prettier and faster paced, IMO, the SNES had what I wanted to play, like FFIV, FFVI, Earthbound, Super Mario World, and Mario Kart.
32/64-Bit: Playstation - Personally, I don't really like the N64. Just not my thing, and I don't care for the way the games went. Playstation has my Final Fantasy and Suikoden and Parasite Eve, so that's what I got, and it's my favorite.
128-Bit: PS2 - Okay, so I love my Dreamcast, it's great and all, and I still play it lots for homebrew and emulation especially, but again, the PS2 has the games I want to play.

Maybe you shouldnt ask this on a DC emulation board as it pretty much answers itself.
DNR the current kickass dc programer. Thanks
for the emulator I've been waiting 2 years for.
Thanks to Reaper2k2 also for showing interest into WSC emulation.

Ah yes.....The jaguar and Lynx. Both true giants of the console past...Sirmorpheous wrote:this is in the dreamcast discussion so ppl can learn that the Atari dominates over all the other consoles.
Anyway, I can't decide my favorite out of all those. I'm going to say Dreamcast to make this thread relevant in this forum.

My favorite console of all time had to be the Nintendo 64. It had the best controller ever made, some of the best games ever made, and still has the coolest look of any console to date. Plus you gotta love the absence of load time in games.
Of course, that's my opinion, and unfortunatly it's hard to find people that agree with me.
