lets not forget nintendo still invests a little in bandai and do want to eventually buy them out. , now it just looks like a more valuable investment for nintendo if they do grab them up before EA or MS does

You'd have to be on crack if you think Nintendo would ever let themselves be bought out by a crappy company like EA.

If it was only 1.6 bil, why didn't EA already buy them out?

You need to understand that not just any bum off the street can walk up and buy a company. It needs executive board approval. It also needs government approval if the companies are large enough or public so that monopolies aren't formed. Also isn't EA a US company? It's kind of hard to buy out foreign companies because of trade laws etc.

This is bad news. Bandai sucks at making games (look at all their DBZ games for example).

Very bad news, indeed. I haven't played the wonderswan, or even a wonderswan emulator, so I can't make an argument on that.

Havin tried it emulated the wonderswan indeed seemed quite a nice system, one day I'll find one cheap somewhere no doubt like the 3do one time for 7 quid

Or um, maybe it's good news, because Namco would probably be making the games now instead of whatever dev team(s) Bandai has hired in the past? I think whoever did Gundam Wing: Endless Duel on SFC was onto something, though...
