One Radio Shack Y-Adapter (with an intermittent short) = $5.00
Two 40GB Maxtors = $300

Corrupt data and bad sectors = Priceless.

I cant figure out why it didnt just fry them. I accidently unplugged a powered IDE drive once, and it died immediatly.

Wow, no kidding! I bought my 80 gig for $220, and that was about 8 months ago! I know there're even cheaper than that now.
