That's not a portable DC - that's a DC with a screen. ;)

A portable DC in the vein of the systems made by Benjamin Heckendorn would be a portable DC. ;)

No. All this is saying that someone can make a new console with the technology used in the Dreamcast. You would need more than just the technology behind the Dreamcast to make the console compatible with Dreamcast games. It would be cool if someone licensed the backwards-compatibility from Sega, but I doubt it's going to happen.

If you could buy these on a PCB with proper lil holes to solder wires in it would be great for modding!

Nice!

I saw this coming ages ago! And this is only the beginning...

I actually thought PowerVR used the SH4 to drive the MBX which has this "vertex geometry processor" which sounds so much like the SH4 fpu. If so, then this new system is 2 SH4s or an enhanced MBX core.

Not likely - the Naomi 2 still more than likely kicks ass compared to this chip. Devices for use don't necessarily need to be small, they could also be thin - 1 of the main benefits of these embedded devices is they are low on power consumption and don't emit excessive amounts of heat. Expect to see it in the next generation of toasters ... or maybe mobile phones....

I'd love to see Tec Toy making new DCs with this, but unfortunately there's no cure for their lack of vision.

It is a single chip with a processor like the Dreamcast's main processor and the Dreamcast's graphics processor.
