Yeah, if he would have died a year sooner he wouldn't have been remeber for a skit. Too bad he died, always sad to see a musician die so soon.

If he would have died a year ago, he would have been remembered as a crack head that beat women, not for his music. At least now when he is remembered people will smile because of the skit.

Exactly. Rick James life was a bit of a roller coaster, but the Dave Chapelle skit & the fact he participated in the skit makes his "out" more sweet. I'm not praising the man, but at least a new generation can find out more about him (and what not to do with their lives) all because of a funny ass story spun by Charlie Murphy.
