Quake question/suggestion

Talk about Quake, Doom, Wolfenstein 3D, or other DC first person shooting game ports and mods for those games in here.

Quake question/suggestion

Post by SegaGamer »

Hello, I know im new here but i downloaded the quake project yesterday and first of all i have to say WELL DONE :). It ran better than I ever expected it to. I have a few questions / suggestions about it though.

1 - Is it possible to add mouse support to it now? I really can't play games like Quake properly without a mouse and keyboard only isnt that great...(i dont like using controllers either).

2 - For european dreamcasts could you code the program to boot to 60hz like some other homebrew stuff does? I was very disappointed at the fact that I had to play it in 50hz, as its generally slower and has borders :S.

Thanks in advance.

RADQuake is my favorite Quake engine, it's not the prettiest but it runs a lot more mods then QuakeDC and plays better.
"I'm convinced RenegadeC is in fact not a human, but rather an experimental IRC/QuakeC bot who has the ability to randomly formulate mods and code them, programmed to have a distinct Canadian personality as well."

RADQuake also supports the keyboard and mouse.
And it is 100% legal. (Titanium's port is in a gray area there)

The only feature RADQuake needs is saving. Otherwise its a great port.

Though I would still like to see hardware rendering and maybe use the 2MB sound ram rather than the system ram for the sounds. (freeing up that much more space for big mods)
