A dreamcast/ps2
One of my friends said he was reading somewhere about a way to convert your dreamcast into a dreamcast/ps2, with a few hardware modifacations. If he wasn't just blowing hot air up my skirt, I was wondering if any of you know where I might find info on it.

hehe, it'll take a little bit more than "a few" hardware modifications. we'll ignore the fact that the PS2 can't read GD-ROMs and the DC can't read DVDs for a minute and just think about what he's saying. You'd have to make a whole new case, find a way to connect both sets of hardware to one board(desoldering everything and redoing all the connections? hehe), set them both up to magically use one power supply (i'm assuming is part of the idea), and the list just goes on and on and on. usually when something sounds SO far fetched, it usually is :) don't worry though, people tend to want to believe stuff like that when they don't know much about the technology; after awhile though, you'll pick it all up and you'll be answering the same questions yourself:)

2. Purchase a Roll of Duct Tape
3. Put the two consoles beside each other.
4. Take the Duct Tape and wrap it around both systems

Yeah that's what I thought
 Yeah he said something about changing the laser, getting another power supply, and whole bunch of other crap. He said it would cost like $700 dollars to do it. So I was just wondering because it sounded like an interesting idea to learn about.

With the right equipment (and ideas and/or knowledge) this is quite possible. However I seriously doubt that anyone would even spend the time and money on such a huge project. This 'dream" can become a reality but if it were to happen, most people would have to go out and purchase a completly different overpriced system, which will not happen.
So basically, it is not impossible, its just not going to happen.
Then again, a PS2 emulator for DC....wait...DC can't read DVDs....If I were to rip the DVD PS2 game and burn it to CDR and play it on a PS2 emu for DC....oh wait there is no such thing and if there were, it would be warez...not to mention PS2 games are HUGE and probably would not fit on a CDR...bah!

The discussion of warez is not allowed on on these forums, whether you feel you have a legitimate reson for making your own 'backups' or not is irrelivant, it is against the rules.
Not only could you end up with a temporary or even permanent ban from the forums, but you could get the site in legal trouble as well.
So to sum up, if you want to talk about warez (copying software), please do it elsewhere.
