Re: Might take a break from PSO for a while...
All that stuff has been fixed for GCMM, it even does special handling for PSO saves so they can be copied to different cards (instead of just backing up and restoring to the same card).

Re: Might take a break from PSO for a while...
If you're getting a non-plus PSO disc for homebrew like you mentioned in another thread, you could use GCMM to backup your cards. These days the third-party memcards available on ebay and such are actually better quality than original Nintendo cards, they use newer NAND chips that can handle far mor...

Re: Might take a break from PSO for a while...
It doesn't constantly access the card but it requires it to remain in the slot while you're playing, otherwise it'll disconnect. So if the connection's dodgy or the card is just misbehaving in general you'll get kicked off. I don't remember if you can use slot B without slot A filled for this game, ...

No, most of the time Dolphin doesn't even implement the external framebuffer.

Re: Want to say Hello
Nah, neither the rendering nor TV display work like that.
Don't rely on Dolphin at all, it is missing several steps of the video output process. The scaling they ended up using for "AR correction" is not actually based on the hardware, but what was agreed to "look right".

Not sure what "IAR" means but they don't render using a square viewport.

Re: Want to say Hello
If you run the games on a wii using Devolution you can capture direct framebuffer screenshots, in the native resolution.

Re: Want to say Hello
There's a few different filters involved in the GC's video output but the one you're probably noticing is the horizontal scaler; PSO renders using a width of 640 so no scaling is used, while RE4 uses a width of 512 and MGS (IIRC) uses around 608 which both get bilinearly resized (blurred) to a width...

Re: GameCube/Wii Players
But by the time you reach around level 120 playing offline, you've found pretty much everything you're likely to ever find with that character. Possibly dozens of times over.

Re: GameCube/Wii Players
Why not? Half the point of playing online is being able to find rares that are different from the same ones that your own characters keep finding again and again, since the drops are decided by the section ID of game's leader.Otto Baus wrote:I don't bother hunting rares with others.

I would have thought you would realize most modems back then used hardware compression, so compressing small packets had insignificant benefit.

Re: Want to say Hello
Progressive mode requires a component cable, not composite. I'm afraid composite to HDMI will be a complete waste of money.

Re: Sylverant Feature Suggestions
In theory it's fairly easy to limit the "drop event" being delivered to only individual players, but it's a lot more complicated to make the server track the items and make them actually work as expected (since picking items up is meant to be negotiated with/handled by the leader).
