The reviews of that game are horrendous. The Metacritic average is 38%, with the absolute highest review being a 64%. So I'd say stay as far away as possible.

Why are you thinking of buying it? Because you think it looks like a good game, or because the guy who made Sonic made it?

That is one of the all around least appealing cover art+game title combo I have ever seen.

GameTrailers ripped this one apart.

This game had hype though back when it came out, oddly enough.

When I read the title, this came to my mind...

Lines join in faint discord and the Stormwatch brews
. . a concert of Kings as the white sea snaps
. . at the heels of a soft prayer
. . whispered

People have to remember Sega more or less doesn't exist, most of the staff left or retired, those who are their are stuck at supervisor roles rather than game development.

They got Valkyrie Chronicles this year, it was a step in the right direction.

You're the one and only guy on here who continues to forget that.

I really wish that game would have been more successful at retail. It was excellent.

Also, aquiring Platinum Games helps too, as Madworld is also awesome. But again, it didn't do so great at retail.

Actually I think Platinum Games is killing Sega. Partnering with them was totally uncalled for and I hang-on to the belief that the capital that could've been given to the AM Teams to develop something new has gone to PG.

Now they are making a cheap devil may cry with high heels, for the boner demographics.

I would have preferred AM1 design another Shinobi instead.

EDIT: SCREENSHOTS SCREESNSHOTS SCREENSHOTS

They are more like concept art and for some reason don't look....

Platinum Games is killing SEGA? Have you played Mad World? Sure it's a bit repetitive, but it's one of the better SEGA games I've played in quite some time. :|

I think what he meant was that Platinum Games is absorbing money and projects that could have been assigned to true Sega teams. Which is a horrible argument, but that's what he means.

Why would they do that when SEGA teams make nothing but crap?

Sega teams make crap because they were merged (downsized) after the sammy merger, which caused a lot of talent to exit the company. Since the talent left they were further downsized into just AM, GE (Sonic Team), NE (Amusement Vision + Smilebit)/

After the failed mergers all teams were absorbed back into the company and restored to their initial structure of "AM teams" to work mainly on Arcade, hence AM1's House Of The Dead 4 & Ex won't be ported to home consoles instead we get HeadStrong games making OverKill.

AM2 always remained close to the Arcade and is probably just as good as it always was however aside from Virtua Fighter I don't think any of their games will be coming home.

AM3's Virtua Tennis is ported to consoles by Sumo Digital (with the exception of the PS3 version) and now VT2009 is also being developed by Sumo Digital. Prior to the Sega Sammy merger their games and devers were great.

Although Amusement Vision (AM4) did not suffer from the Sammy Merger, infact it reached new heights prior to the merger, in my opinion it was the weakest of all the development teams. It only had Daytona USA, Virtua Striker (initially made by AM2) and Super Monkey Ball under it's belt. However after the merger Nagoshi;s Studio was merged with Smilebit (Jet Set Radio, Panzer Dragoon etc) and renamed NE R&D: this is the only Sega studio that works on console specific franchises and is behind all of Sega's currently acclaimed franchises such as Yakuza & Spin-Off's, Super Monkey Ball, and Valkyrie Chronicles.

Imagine if a studio as weak as Amusment Vision could reach such heights how far would have OverWork gone between 2000 - 04: they released some of my favourite games of the last generation Skies Of Arcadia, Shinobi, Blood Will Tell, NightShade and the worst part is that most of OverWorkers are still employed by Sega, Valkyrie Chronicles was designed by former OverWorkers hence it had Vyse, Aika, Fina in minor roles.

In conclusion they are 1/3 in size of what they were in addition to the fact that game development today requires larger teams than it did 5 years ago.
