I have had a few problems saving and got an error from Mei-Ling. If an error does occur, simply pull the VMU out and put it back in and try to save again. This normally takes care of it.
You don't even need to pull the VMU out. If you get a save error, just keep trying to save until you don't get the error. Even if it looks like it saved, but it still says there's an error, it means there was an error, so try again. This isn't rocket science people *cough*goodcow*cough*, it's common freaking sense.

Yes, that's why my saves got corrupt.
a) Even though VMUs are supposed to be hot swappable, just the fact that you're pulling them in and out while electricity is going through the controller isn't a good thing.
b) I did save over my saves when it said "Save error." I still managed to lose all my saves somehow.
