Nathan Keynes wrote:I’ve ended up spending a lot longer on the OS X port than I would have liked - the worst culprit lately has been the native CD-Rom support (but that’s a rant for another day). The only major bit outstanding now for OS X is the preferences dialog, which I’ll get back to shortly after I spend some time on other things.
Changes
- Add CoreAudio support (OS X dependencies are now down to glib + gettext)
- Finish making the OS X bundles self-contained (ie distributable)
- Get the OS X native cdrom drive to a ‘mostly working’ state.
- Fix a couple of minor translator buffer issues

He must be working hard. Wasn't the OS X port just a random thing too?

Pretty much; me and a few other people expressed interest in getting it to compile in OS X and he started doing a bunch of work on it. His progress is pretty impressive.

I hope he doesn't lose the interest in the Linux port, which is, in my opinion, more important.

According to the statistics, it isn't.Maturion wrote:I hope he doesn't lose the interest in the Linux port, which is, in my opinion, more important.

How would the statistics show that Maturion's opinion is other than he states?JKKDARK wrote:According to the statistics, it isn't.Maturion wrote:I hope he doesn't lose the interest in the Linux port, which is, in my opinion, more important.
But seriously, as a tool for developers of Dreamcast software, I think a Linux version would be more widely used than an OSX version. Saying this, of course, is not belittle the importance of the OS X port, which is certainly exciting to see.
