burn CD-X with the discjuggler (.cdi) or nero (.nrg) program. Or try with Utopia boot disk.

i thought discjuggler and nero are windows only programs.
what i'm trying to do is burn a copy of cd-x so that i can use it to play shenmue ii on my NTSC dreamcast. i was told that cdrtools would work for burning that, but after d/ling it i can't figure out how to compile it.

If you have the discjuggler file then you could use the CDI Rip app in the Macpack 4 (http://dcemulation.org/?p=tools/pc/mac/main) set of apps. Depending on the files that it outputs you can then use toast to burn a CD-ROM XA disc, usually with 2 sessions.
It's been some time since I've had to do this but there's some instructions here that will hopefully sort you out:

If you can still get it, the commercially released DC-X is v.good for playing imports and worth the small cost.
