Seen that before but I doubt it would feel right, tactile feedback being nothing but a desk.

It's cool, but there's no feedback so it seems like it would be extremely hard to use. Plus, without some cushioning on the desk it would be really hard on your fingers.

Read a review in a local newspaper that said it was piece of trash and could've been more productive as a paperweight.

Having all the keys blank is kind of stupid. I'd like to have labels for at least the keys that I only use occasionally, such as Print Screen/Scroll Lock/Pause.

You won't care if you start using it. I've got two friends that have bought them.

Or you could just use a Model M, like me =P. Windows keys are for losers.

Wow. An $80 keyboard that looks like a $10 Walmart keyboard but with nothing on the keys. Yeah, I am pretty sure I can make my own for $10 plus a 99 cent can of spray paint.pixel wrote:You won't care if you start using it. I've got two friends that have bought them.

Believe it or not, the way a keyboard performs doesn't depend on how many shiny emblems and cool switches are littered about it. Das Keyboard II uses ModelM-style mechanical switches, not dome-switch membranes. In addition, the individual key regions are weighted to contour to the differences between the amount of strength each different finger has.bizzle wrote:Wow. I'm pretty sure it uses microswitches rather than buckling springs; the website says "we've teamed up with Cherry" (a leading manufacturer of microswitches), and says that their keyboard is quieter than a Model M. Not that this is really a bad thing, of course.|darc| wrote:Das Keyboard II uses ModelM-style mechanical switches

I haven't tried their newest stuff, but every Apple keyboard and mouse after the iMac has sucked. It's sad, their ADB stuff was fantastic.

We're not talking about shiny emblems and cool switches we're talking about simple basic labeling of the keys.|darc| wrote:Believe it or not, the way a keyboard performs doesn't depend on how many shiny emblems and cool switches are littered about it.

Re: This laser keyboard is IT!!
No, we're not. bizzle said "If I wanted a keyboard without labels, I could spend $10 on a Wal-Mart keyboard and $1 on spraypaint" as if that were its only selling point, and I said that they keyboard has a bunch of other advantages that are great despite the fact that they aren't apparent in the form of shiny emblems and cool switches (as if the only advantage of a non-Wal-Mart keyboard was shiny emblems and cool switches). The unlabelled keys are a good thing because between them and the weighted keys, you don't have to look at the keyboard and you become a better typist from using the keyboard correctly.Calavera wrote:We're not talking about shiny emblems and cool switches we're talking about simple basic labeling of the keys.|darc| wrote:Believe it or not, the way a keyboard performs doesn't depend on how many shiny emblems and cool switches are littered about it.

You both fail. There can be only one grand champion of keyboards and its this monstrosity:

Re: This laser keyboard is IT!!
You're missing the point. Yes it has a lot more bells and whistles (wtf is the LCD for?), but comparing the way the keys feel, the build quality, and the pressure/spring mechanisms the Logitech fails miserably.Lunchbox wrote:You both fail.
