I find that hard to do sometimes, as there are very, very different opinions on here. There most certainly is a much broader range of aspects covered when you have such a collection of people, which is great to really judge a game's merit, but I still need one solid source to help me with an overall view.|darc| wrote:I just listen to what people say on this forum.
It also helps that I pretty much know what I like and what I don't, so I can just ignore the topics for games that I know won't appeal to me.

I do that and read Eurogamers reviews too.Luriden wrote:I usually go to GameFAQs for reviews and read several of the user reviews. I'll read the positive ones, then the negative ones, and try to gain some knowledge off of that.
IGN / Gamespot / 1up reviews usually arent worth the pixels theyre printed on.

Re: Game Review Sites
for modern games, I tend to purchase games based on magazine reviews, word of mouth, etc. I also might rent a game before buying.
For retro roms/games I use http://www.sega-16.com for genesis games and http://www.neo-geo.com for neo geo related stuff

Well, over time I just know who I'll probably agree with and who I won't.melancholy wrote:I find that hard to do sometimes, as there are very, very different opinions on here. Re: Game Review Sites
They're all pretty terrible IMO, I sometimes head over to CVG but I've never really bought a game off one of their reviews.

Re: Game Review Sites
The day I find a review site that hates FF12 as much as I do I will agree with it. Till then I just rely on my own judgment.
