360 did terrible in Japan for some reason. Guess they like to stick with the systems made in their own country. Still that chart does not really say which one is the most popular. The Wii might have more sales if more consoles was available, and the 360 has been out a lot longer then the others giving it a head start.
Wii number: 1227 6854 1080 3665

You are looking for the word "Xenophobia" combined with a general lack of completely Japanesey games on the 360. Who else would want a bus driving simulator?Veggita2099 wrote:360 did terrible in Japan for some reason. Guess they like to stick with the systems made in their own country. That site is infamous for inventing its own data, and shouldnt be relied on for anything other than the broadest possible generalisation about sales trends.
Which is that the 360 hasn't sold particularly well in the time its been out, the PS3 is doing approximately the same as the 360 did, and the Wii is selling phenomenally well globally.
But everyone whos looked at any actual sales data already knew that.

I'm pretty sure that i remember reading on a good few sites that the 360 has been selling better then the PS3 has for a good while now.Nyarlathotep wrote:That site is infamous for inventing its own data, and shouldnt be relied on for anything other than the broadest possible generalisation about sales trends.

Oh ..Hasney wrote:No, what he means is that the PS3 is doing about the same numbers as the 360 was at the same point in it's lifespan.zero wrote:I'm pretty sure that i remember reading on a good few sites that the 360 has been selling better then the PS3 has for a good while now.Nyarlathotep wrote:That site is infamous for inventing its own data, and shouldnt be relied on for anything other than the broadest possible generalisation about sales trends.

Even if the site is inventing numbers they can't be that far off, not like the PS3 sold more than the Wii and they are lying about it. I read some ranting and raving about how the PSP is about to catch up to the DS, even if that number moved to within 3/4 of the DS he was full of it.

It's funny. I bought into every generation of the GameBoy, and while there were a few games I played on each, they rarely got any playtime whatsoever. I consigned myself to the "I don't like handhelds" group, and was ready to pass the DS off as something I wouldn't play as well.DaMadFiddler wrote:Of all the current hardware platforms, DS has the best game selection by far. Of course, it's also the platform that's been OUT the longest, but still...it really says something when that title goes to a handheld.
But boy was I wrong, it easily gets more playtime than anything else I have right now, and theres loads of great games I've not even played yet. I absolutely love the thing. Plus with Dragon Quest 9, Zelda, FF4 Remake, and new Phoenix Wright and Elite Beat Agents on the way...it's all looking good.
