Setting up a phpBB forum for free
I want to set up a forum for the people at my college. There are some free "we'll host phpBB forums for you" sites out there, but so far I haven't found any that will let me backup the forum database.
An alternative could be to use a free webhost with PHP support and install a forum in it, but it would have to be reliable enough so I don't have the same problems DCEmulation had when trying to backup the forum's database when it was hosted at ZTNet.
The bandwidth usage will probably be very low.
So, any recommendations?

I agree completely. If you're paying the money, they're obliged to offer you some sort of service. If you're getting something for free, they can pretty much do what they want and you have no real reason to complain.not just souLLy now wrote:When it comes to domains and hosting I've definitely come to discover the only services worth having are ones you pay for, even if they're really cheap. Even $10 a year type hosting will be better than 'we'll host your forum' sites
