Re: Wii Virtual Console Releases Thread
If they reduced all VC prices by 50 percent the prices would be reasonable. $2.50 for a NES game seems about right, $4 SNES, $5 N64. I know there is no way in hell I'd pay $9 and $10 for Neo-Geo and N64 downloads.

Re: Wii Virtual Console Releases Thread
so don't. nintendo is making a ton of money off the current pricing, and unless they're sales were to go up by over 200% then they really have no reason to cut them by 50%, do they?Calavera wrote:If they reduced all VC prices by 50 percent the prices would be reasonable. $2.50 for a NES game seems about right, $4 SNES, $5 N64. Re: Wii Virtual Console Releases Thread
I think that $8 is fair for some snes games. Super Mario World isnt worth it since you can find it for $1-2 at a store, but you have to figure in the games that you will never find for $8 like Super Mario RPG or Chrono Trigger (if that ever comes to the vc).

Re: Wii Virtual Console Releases Thread
My take is accept the pricing and STFU. Your whining isn't going to make nintendo lower their prices on the VC downloads. Just accept them or get the hardware, buy the carts and stop whining OR Don't buy em,simple. Since Neo Carts are expensive as hell,$9 is fair in my book.
Have you played dreamcast today?

I was simply stating my opinion about the pricing of the VC. Chill out.

You missed Lunar Pool for NES.Covar wrote:Today's Releases 10/22

Only two today it seems.
But yeah, rather unremarkable. It's nice that they're starting to release import titles, but I'm STILL waiting for a number of American games! I'm guessing they're holding Mario 3 off for the Mario Galaxy launch, but there are others that they really don't need to sit on any longer.

Golden Axe 3 is tempting. IF it was 200 points less ID be all over it.

GA3 is by far the best game in the series. Definitely worth the download if you ask me.

Hopefuly Castlevania III won't be too far off. I like Simon's Quest, but it's my least favorite of the NES Castlevania games. I never finished it without the use of codes, so I might pick it up and do a legitimate play-through.

Re: Wii Virtual Console Releases Thread
I personally thought the first castlevania was pretty lame. I loved the 2nd one though. The first had such stiff controls and boring power ups.Vlad Tepes wrote:Hopefuly Castlevania III won't be too far off. I like Simon's Quest, but it's my least favorite of the NES Castlevania games. Simon's Quest had all of the potential to be a good game, but they really screwed up on some stuff. First that comes to mind is the day and night cycle, ugh. The only way I'd consider playing that game is using fast forward/frameskip on an emulator.

Re: Wii Virtual Console Releases Thread
Even that would be fine, if they gave you a little more information about what you were supposed to be doing. I enjoy the game, but Simon's Quest is one title you HAVE to play with a guide...otherwise you just end up wandering around aimlessly.Dew wrote:Perhaps because it was the first?Veggita2099 wrote:I personally thought the first castlevania was pretty lame. As far as the first is concerned: it is definitely stiff and dated, but it is still a fun game. I beat it once (on actual NES hardware, no less!), but it took bloody FOREVER. The multiple monsters fight was a pain in the ass, not to mention the underground cavern level.
Of course, there are other games that are even harder, like Super Ghouls'n'Ghosts (which was stiff on PURPOSE). I got through that one once, too. It was the GBA port (which is basically the SNES version, except it lets you save your game)...I got all the way through the end, after several days of struggling and a whole lot of cursing...just to discover that I had to do the whole thing AGAIN. "You need the gold ring" or some BS like that. Hardest game I've *EVER* played, and when you finally get to the end, they make you go through it twice! That's worse than Megaman making you fight all the bosses again
