360 on Monitor questions.
Ok, I may be saving up to get a nice 19"widescreen as I see them on Newegg for only $210 shipped and such. I am wondering how nice does it look? I am thinking of just purchasing this myself and mounting it to a wall or something. Problem is that I like multiplayer, but I think I can live on live for awhile. Does it look really nice, and I mean REALLY nice? Right now im playing on crap component, 480p in letterbox. I'm thinking of just getting the VGA cable and using it with the 19" CRT I have now untill I can afford a better monitor. Thanks for your input.

Ok, so maybe it isn't crap. But I still want a nice monitor, espically if I'll be able to get cable hooked up to it.melancholy wrote:Crap component? I can only dream of the day I would ever have a need for component cables. Hell, getting S-Video on my new TV was amazing to me, and I bought that TV at the beginning of this year.
This is the room I want to hook the 360 up to.
It's pretty small, so thats why I want the LCD. I think the room is like 12x10 or something around that. I want to basicly just have a couch/fouton,the 360, my computer, a dressor, and the monitor in there and thats it. And I'll also be getting some logitech speakers after the monitor.

From the picture above, it would appear that you have one hell of a gas leak in that room.

Component and other inputs --> 1280x1024
It is overtly expensive though... however I'm not sure of any other options. 720p is decent enough.

I just hooked up my 360 to my crappy 17inch CRT, and I think it looks wonderful, even though I'm using a cheap cable. Any decent monitors will do 720p, which is good enough for most people. You may want to see if you can find a monitor that will do 1920 ? 1080 because now the 360 will upscale to 1080p when the fall dashboard update hits.
Maybe that resolution is impossible on a cheap monitor, I don't know. Still, I highly suggest getting the cable now, because it can only be better.
edit: also, the way I connect my monitor is 360 --> VGA gender adapter (female to female) --> monitor.
