MKDS snaking thread
I've always tried snaking but just never could quite catch on. I know how to do it, but haven't become good at it enough yet to use it in a race. But now that I've experienced online play, I've decided that snaking is just not for me. There's too many assholes online that use snaking as their only means of playing. Anyone ever notice that snakers always choose Moo Moo Farm? I was racing against a snaker with 350 wins, 3 of them were from me. It was the last race, and he wanted Moo Moo Farm. Again. I instead picked the one track I know snakers fail at: Rainbow Road. He kept falling off and I got ahead for once, I started to rejoice. Then he couldn't put up with the fact that a n00b was beating him and he disconnected himself after snaking off the track again.

That's not considered snaking. Snaking is when you slide , whether it be a straight path or not, do a boost, then immediatly slide to the other side to get a boost. Snakers do this for the entire level so they get that "little boost' the whole time.AgentGreen wrote:I snake when i come off a corner for that little speed boost but that's it.

It always seemed to be Baby Mario Circuit when I was playing online.Kenichi wrote:Anyone ever notice that snakers always choose Moo Moo Farm?
Because snaking round in a big oval 6 times in a row is fun.

The main reason I don't like to snake is that it hurts my hands.
Snaking is not necessary to be good at the game. It's not that hard to get *** rating or beat the staff ghosts without snaking.
Online it's practically impossible to beat a snaker without snaking yourself though.

Actually, thats not a bad idea. It'd be a totally different game without the power slides.Bertrude wrote:Same here, just on corners.
It would have been great if you could set options for racing to decide whether power boosts and/or bonus items are turned on or off. At least that way you could choose the kind of race you were participating in.
Oh, and what is everyone's favorite racer + kart combo? I use Toad's Dry Bomber personally.

Giving more options, such as the ability to disable items and powersliding would have been great. Though...if you disabled items...it would kinda screw up the game's balance. It would be cool to be able to specify areas of the track for powerslide boosting...such as only around turns. One can dream. And...I've never been able to connect to anybody from this site. I've added everybody, but I guess nobody likes to play when I do. Oh well
