The only one I ever thought was a photoshop was the XDCX, the others all looked fine. But I'd only ever seen the "original" XDCX pic before, which looks really, REALLY fake. Like they'd taken a pic of a black DC and cut a chunk out of a pic of an xbox and shoved them together. Not even photoshop, more like MS Paint on a Windows 3.x box.

Those pics actually have like, lighting and depth to them. But here's the thing... it looks like a new, molded case. Not a cutting job. Too deep, too sharp, I dunno.

I think that should be possible with modern casting resins, although I doubt results that good could come from anything less than years of experience.

It does seem it'd have to be a new molded case. Look where the orgnail light is? Gone. The controler face plate? Gone. It is a new molded case, in my opnion(if it's even real).

Yeah well the new pics were enough to change my mind from "That's so bullshat." to "That is either so bullshat or a ridiculous amount of work. Either way, I'm a bit disgusted."

MKE: You mean the ones right here, in this thread? Guess so.

DCModder: White means it's a studio pic. Many professional artists take pics in a studio, and if the mod is of that caliber I can see the artist doing that easy.

He's done a whole bunch of them for all sorts of consoles.

I know that you are someone who has not logged into the forum for almost 20 years, but guess what...

I'm currently researching these mods (there is a gamecube one and a ps2 one as well). Surprisingly, I've amassed a good bit of information on them and am working on a write-up to summarize their history, but if anyone thinks they know anything about these, like why they were made and who owned them over time, please feel free to post or PM me and I'll see how it corroborates or adds to the information I've already learned about them.

Ha, I remember those from back in the day. I thought they looked awesome. And even though it's been 20 years I still remember your username, DukeofURL. I thought it was funny.

darc, I was hoping you'd respond since I know you've been here for (checks calendar) decades. How much longer until we are wheeled into the retirement home  Thanks for appreciating my old username, triggering a smirk or a chuckle was the intent all along.
