Gasoline prices up again

Post by curt_grymala »

No online source for this, but my wife just told me that, between lunch time and about 4:00 this afternoon, gasoline prices went from $1.899 up to $2.119 per gallon. Watch out for it if it hasn't already happened to you.

Yeah, crude hit almost $54/gal. We really need to move quicker on drilling in AK.

Yeah - I heard on the news a little while ago that experts are predicting prices will go up by $0.25/gal this weekend.

I still remember when gas was less than $0.80 per gallon.

You also remember when 20 oz. cokes were $.75 and candy bars were $.40. Inflation is a bitch.

This is more than inflation. These wild fluctuations are the result of intentional manipulation of the price.

I'm aware of this. He just seemed to have slipped into one of those "when I was a kid..." things.

20 oz cokes were never $.75 that was 16 oz ones the price went from 75-79 then they introduced 20 oz ones at .99. Candy bars are still 3 for a dollars and most gas stations So they arent good examples of inflation car prices are the best thing to site. 1980 cars ran about 3500 now they are 13,000 for the low end.

Actually when the 20 oz cokes debuted here they sold for $.50 for several months before the price went up. Candy bar prices have stayed the same but the size of the bar has decreased. Inflation effects all things, not just expensive items, though they are the most noticable examples.

Yes, the size of things has been decreasing over the years. Example, you used to be able to get 32 oz of spagetti sauce, but now you pay the same for only 28 ounces.

The gas prices are sooo bad. My bro just got a GSX (Eclipse all wheel drive turbo) and that wastes so much gas. I got an Altima also but the gas is ok but still the prices are crazy!
