I have Windows Millennium :( What can I do?!!
Yes, I have Windows Millennium and I HATE it's DOS. There are many DC burning programs, etc. that I want to use, and I can't because they won't run with Windows Millennium's DOS. Is there any way around this problem?!! It has finally drove me completly insane after I tried to run another program I wanted to use that wouldn't work. Is there anything I can do?!! Please help me!
Thanks for any help.

late reply...
Yes, I use dssbs final constantly. I love it. But what I want to do is add a first audio track to my emulators to make the disk more like a real DC disk. I can't use cdrecord, or that one IP insertion program, so I don't know what to do. But I've never heard of making a boot disk from Win98, and using that on my computer...I'll have to look into that. thanks for the help.

As far as I know, there is absolutly nothing I am doing wrong. When I try to load up cdrecord, a DOS screen pops up for a second (when it starts to load cdrecord), then it just disappears. I can't use it. I'm really curious to know how you can get cdrecord running on your computer. Maybe there's something I'm missing???

It sounds as though you are double clicking on the CDRecord icon from within Windows Epxlorer. If this is the case than this is what you are doing wrong.
you have to open a DOS prompt (START > Programs > Accessories > MS DOS Prompt), then use it to get to the directory with CDRecord and run it from there.
If I have misunderstood the situation then I apologise.
I Hope this helps

:(
Well, I tried getting into cdrecord from the MS-DOS prompt. No luck. It displays the same text that it normally would when the window would pop up and disappear when I tried to run cdrecord from Windows. Except now instead of the window disappearing, it goes right back to C:\WINDOWS>
and I can't use cdrecord.
Any other ideas?
Really, I don't even need to use cdrecord as long as I can find a way to make a disk with an audio track on it, like a real DC disk would. If there is a way to do that on Windows Millenium, could somebody please tell me? Thanks a whole lot.

sometimes when i try to burn emulators, i hit to burn the cd, and a dos screen pops up for a second then dissapears. what i have to do is go to cdrwin and find the image and burn the rest of the cd with that. i dont know if thats your problem, but this info might help someone. heres what i have to help
* Cdrecord problems:
If you get an error while attempting to burn the second
session let me first say this: YOU HAVEN'T BURNED A COASTER!
Well, at least not yet...
If you have problems using cdrecord you'll be able to burn
the second session using cdrwin:
http://www.goldenhawk.com/cdrwin.htm
I don't know what causes this problem, but here's the cdrwin
tutorial:
1] Click the fourth button with the screwdriver.
2] Change the top "Backup/Tool Operation" to:
Record an ISO9660 Image File
3] Click ... next to Image Filename and locate your data.iso.
4] Set Recording Options:
Disc Type: CDROM-XA
Track Mode: MODE2
Speed: 1X
Finalize/Close Session: Checked
Write Postgap: Checked
Open New Session: Unchecked
Verify Recorded Image: Unchecked
Test Mode: Unchecked
Enable BURN-Proof: Unchecked
5] Click START in the top right corner.
6] Try the disc in your Dreamcast when finished burning.

CDRECORD is a console mode application. That means to run it you bring up a dos prompt and pass parameters to it.
For example, if I wanted to burn a iso I had made called my.iso, I would do this (differs depending on setup).
cdrecord my.iso -dev=0,0,0
You can not simply run it, there is no pretty GUI. If you run it without parameters it will give you a help screen. It tells you how to use it. Read it!
[edited to tone down my message, I was rather frustrated by the fact that somebody would expect a ported from linux console app to run like Microsoft Word]
