Favorite Classic Mega Man Game
Topic.
I personally liked Mega Man 8 the best. The voices were hilarious, I enjoyed the colorful graphics, and the music was brilliant.
Mega Man 4 and 2 follow closely behind.

I own them all now, thanks to the Anniversary Collection.
Megaman- Owned for NES; beat once. Good game but a little short.
Megaman 2- Could never pass it. HATE DISAPPEARING BLOCK JUMPING!!!
Megaman 3- Terrific game; towards the end of.
Megaman 4- Owned for NES; originally my favorite. Also the first one I beat, and the most times.
Megaman 5- Probably the easiest. Gravity Man rocks![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
Megaman 6- My favorite, in design and implementation. 1-4 had better soundtracks, though.
Megaman 7- Only got through 5 bosses; didn't really care for it.
Megaman 8- Blech. Another franchise ruined on PlayStation.
Megaman & Bass- Interesting idea...never got all the way through one of the branches, though.
My favorite MM games are 6 and X. It would be nice if they came out with a second collection of X1-X6...they obviously already know how to handle SNES & PSone conversion due to the titles in the previous anthology.

I really liked the SNES part of the X series. After it migrated to CD-based consoles with X4, it really went downhill. I haven't even bothered playing X7 (the new one), which I gather is in cel-shaded 3D.Sir Slash wrote:I like the X series better
but 2 was teh first i owned and holds up as my favorite today, second is 4 and 3rd is 7

I never did care much for the first Megaman. Maybe it just has to do when I played it though. I had allready played (and actually owned) mm2-mm7 so when I played mm1 it was abit of a let down.
It really surprises me how many people never beat Megaman 2. Even on Hard mode I can play through that entire game in about the same speed Mark Discordia can beat Mario 2. One of my few Video Game bragging rites involves Megaman 2. Most of those vanishing blocks can be avoided using one of the items. For instance Heatmans stage towards the end you can use item 2 and hover over the seemingly endless blocks.
Megaman 3 would probably be my 2nd fav. It was probably also one of the longest ones as well.
Megaman 7 was good stuff, but the final boss gave me chain heart attacks from all the cussins.

I feel that the Megaman series started fairly strong, and improved itself on each installment up through 3. Then it started to go downhill, getting progressively worse up through 6. Then it decided to do somewhat of an overhaul, making 7 breath life back into the series, followed by an equally impressive 8.
Soooo...my order for the Megaman series goes like this (from best to worse):
3 2 7 8 1 4 5 6
