The Simpsons mod is finally avalible! This is the mod that many people have asked about. For a long time it was only avalible as warez. I've taken the time to stip out all the Id Software material to bring you this warez free download.

Full version of Quake, a Quake port (I'd recommend QuakeDC or RADQuake) and those SimpsonsQuake files.

If you should want to burn a new QuakeDC cd I'd suggest to use Fragger's HexQuake which is an updated and cleaned up version of QuakeDC.

Well you always need some knowledge but trust me you have all editing tools for Quake you'd ever need. And I only said there's no PROGRAMMING knowledge needed. Fact is creating Quake mods is the easiest way of creating something for the DC. And all game making programs ALWAYS need time to invest before you can do anything with it. Same is for Quake the more complicated your stuff's gonna be, the more knowledge/time is requiered.
Quake is totally open you have:
-a 3d engine
-map editors
-modelling editors
-sound editors
-Texture editors
-Sound editors
-making your game standalone
-testing possibilities on the PC

I was talking to Moi online and he pointed me to this discussion.
yep. Moi's post is true. Especially since RADQuake has developed as far as it has. (still needs save support though)
Here is a 3rd person deathmatch total conversion that doesnt need the original quake files at all. This package has everything that is needed to run it on dreamcast... including the engine.

Twisted Xmas is a more conventional Quake styled (FPS) TC that Moi put together and released. Again everything you need is in this nice tidy SBI
http://www.edgefiles.com/files/11161.html
And an excellent example of how the quake can be used for something completely unrelated to the whole action/shooter catagory would be Prydon Gate. A game that plays more like diablo than Quake. The demo version requires original quake files to run. (no there is no full verion yet... but there are add ons avalible)

I got it up and running but the bad guys (enemies) still look the same. The audio is all changed... really funny stuff. Have you guys tried it out yet... is this what's supposed to happen? I mean the little first person icon is changed to homer, but the enemies and the stages look the same.
Thanks,
Nooch

As far as I know the enemies are changed (same models but new skins).
There are at least Barney, Mr. Burns and Santas Little Helper that i can remember for sure.
