help please, any way to repair Windows 2000?

Post by Lunchbox »

i installed the objectdock shareware, and i then rebooted my laptop. when windows came back up, i got a bunch of "this program has comitted an illegal error and will be shut down" messages. on one of them was the file "run32.dll" or something like that. i uninstalled the stardock program but the errors still remain. now my taskbar is empty and some of my programs won't work (pc-doctor for example). there is no system restore on my laptop cuz of linux, i don't know what to do  any help would be really appreciated

Probably a registry error, why don't you try editting that? When you uninstalled the program it might not have removed its registry entries. Should be a value using run32dll.

Lol yeah but still it's just format, no re-format. Otherwise next it's going to be a re-re-format :p

But Windows 200 is virtually identical to WinXP anyway, but with less annoying bits.

Yet win 2000 has an annoying embedded WM Player window in the lefthand preview pane in explorer where XP doesn't. I'd have expected it the other way around :o

Doesn't Windows 2000 have a repair option in the installer?
