It's time to kick ass and chew bubblegum.... and I'm all out of gum.

Nice job Bero!

"- work with 1.3d shareware"

Just to save people from creating coasters, I tried it with Duke Nukem Atomic Edition and it did not work. Just said something like "Loading Duke 3d" and went blank. I can't wait for future releases! Not really sure if I burned the structure in the right way though. I put my DUKE3D.GRP in the /DUKE3D/ folder as the readme indicated.

*edit* I just burned the shareware image and it is looking good. Gameplay is really laggy but what do you expect for an Alpha? Sound seems to run at 100% Nice Job Bero! I am interested to see how this develops!

1.3d full version needs 17mb memory allocation but DC don't have enoph memory, so it crashed.
I tried city terror and borg ukem TC but it hav same problem..

excellent, I will enjoy this very much.

I have already made an SBI complete with photoshopped image, but I think its a wince game unfortunatly.

Either way, I sent the link to DCEmulation as I dont have enough bandwidth to serve it to everyone :(.

much h8 for 312kbps upload speed.

I cant believe that I forgot about what it was ported from, good, so it should boot, I just noticed a lot of .exe's in there while it was compressing and thought "omg, its wince".

:D Great job with the duke 3d port!! But what's with the memory problem?? I remeber playing duke 3d with only 16 mb of ram. Is the problem with loading the grp file?? You know you could probably extract all the data from it and load it up in parts. Just use kextract and run all the files from there respective directories. Like have a sound, gfx, and music dir.

Dreamcast has more then 16 megs of ram (26 I think), it has sound ram and video ram so loading the .grp can be allocated to those respected parts, meaning the sounds go in the sound ram and the textures and sprites go in the video ram and the rest is stored in the physical ram.

Just a thought, i'm not a programmer really

That would be slooooooow. And the sound RAM can't be used as normal RAM properly. However, if it were to use hardware acceleration, the graphics can be copied into VRAM, and rendered from there, freeing all that space from normal RAM to be used for whatever.

Ya Duke only used 16Mb RAM (as did Quake) on a PC so what is the deal, I don't get it?

If there is a problem I am sure that some of the sound files could be down sampled if not completly removed from the GRP file (or what ever Duke used) to get things rolling, but I don't see why we should have a problem in the first place, not if Quake is running on the DC.

That means that you have removed all that x86 asm, cool. Thank you very much.
You (also BA) are really true heros. Men, do you ever sleep? :D

(i remember that duke run fine under my old 486 dx2 with only 8mb ram(not 16) and 2 mb video(under DOS)). Even Quake run ok under DOS using that machine

Hmm... Something's not right here. Assuming Bero hasn't already done so, I might have a look at it, and see if I can get the full version running.

could we possibly get a menu system in here for choosing the data files?
I would love to be able to put multiple mods on 1 disc for testing.
