Punk music
Who here likes it, and don;t mean that crappy blink 182 and all the other sellout posers that get played on MTV, i mean real punk.
And I don't want to live my life, like everybody else
And I won't say that I feel fine, like everybody else
cause, I'm not like everbody else
-the Kinks-

When did people consider Blink 182 punk? I thought punk was like Anti-Flag? Either way, I don't like it. I'm into electronica, and not emo. By electronica, I mean Aphex Twin, Squarepusher and Autchere. I also like some rock (rammstein) and a lot of classic rock. (Zeppelin, Hendrix etc...)
girls keep telling me they want 8".. so i tell'm ok.. i'll fold it in half

I listen primarly to punk/post-hardcore. I grew up on it, that and a lot of reggae. Here are some of the bands I listen to
Jawbreaker
Social Distortion
Discount
Hot Water Music
The Clash
The Chinkees
Fugazi
Bad Religion
Kid Dynamite
AFI
The Ataris
Those are just some of the bands I listen to (and most I've seen live)

Greenday and Offspring both used to be really good punk...but lately they've become more pop-ish my favorite punk bands are: Bad Religion, Pennywise, Millencolin, and slick shoes

Re: Punk music
Umm...Blink 182 aren't sell outs. They never spoke out against being on a majour label nor did they ever compromise their ideas for money or anything. Thei songs still sound the same from years ago (Which never were that good). Only album of theirs I like is Chesire Cat, everything else is blah, yes even Dude Ranch. There's not that many "sell out" bands anways. Only ones I can think of are Jawbreaker (they signed to a majour label even though they spoke against it) and MxPx (As soon as they got signed to a majour their songs consisted very little to non about God. Possibly The Misfits too, after Jerry Only got the rights to everything Misfits related he merchandised the hell out of it \=daisyboy13 wrote:Who here likes it, and don;t mean that crappy blink 182 and all the other sellout posers that get played on MTV, i mean real punk.
Ahh, DKM is a very good band.
Greenday becoming more popish? Ha, no. Listen to their album warning, there's very little "pop" sound, most of it sounds acoustic and clean. Besides their is a sub genre titled Pop Punk which several bands like The Queers, Screaching Weasel, The Descendents, Never Heard Of It, and others belong to.
Jeeba, turn off the TV and find some real emo music (Rites of Spring, Cursive, Indian Summer, etc) most emo isn't singing about girls d=
Other bands I listen to (I'm extrmely bored right now -_-;; )
Youth Brigade
Teen Idols
Teen Idles
Vaselines
Downset
The Replacements
Husker Du
Betty Blowtorch
Lifetime
Alkaline Trio
Samhain
and countless others
I like
Green day
the clash
the kinks
some of sum41
the cure
older goo goo dolls
offspring
mxpx isn't too bad
and much of the older alternitive/punkish sounds of earlier 90s
blink 182 in my opinion isn't that good... i'll listen to them if they're on the radio..but nothing more
Green day was one of the best concerts i went to, they perform well, and they sound like they do on CD( NEW CD IN 2003)
