I wish the dreamcast had a handle like the gamecube...
Do these really exist? Cause the power light on the gamecube dreamcast looks smaller than a normal dreamcast's

They are all real.

And in case, you are wondering, the Xbox one is cut out like an Xbox too, meaning the 'X' across the machine is real, not painted. Same thing for the ridges on the sides. It is not just repainted.
It's thinking...

Uh.... what the?....

These are clearly very real, as in not just renderings, but what I can't figure out is who did this or why?

The designs are very well done and some like the XBOX version actually required new molded shells for the DC and the controller. Why would somebody go to all that trouble?

Is customizing your game console in Japan like customizing cars here in the US?

???????????????

Scott

PS - I have four DC's and they all look just as Sega intended them to.

actually yes it is. why do you think they sell so many replacement shells for systems in japan. a lot of people like having an individual look for their systems. as for myself the xdcx is amazing piece of work and effort, i think i have found m new project for the new year.

now to head to funcoland and shell out 40 dollars for another dreamcast. and to walmart for some more dremel heads...

well if you have skills with a dremel, those cases can be done quite easily, but it will take some effort. if i get this done i might offer to sell some of them.

Nice indeed! I think my favorite one goes to the XDCX one. However, all of them look like they took a trumendous amount of work.

Hello, I'm researching the dreamcast mods that were the original topic of this thread. It includes dreamcasts modded to look like an xbox, gamecube and PS2. If you have any information about them, please post it here or PM me. I'm working on a writeup on these and am looking to add to what I've already found out about the history of these case mods (who made them, why they exist, who owned them, etc).

Since the pictures and links in this thread are all broken, here's a place where you can see some of the pictures of these case mods.
