To bad that one of the founding fathers of rap is gone.
If it wasnt for this group, eminem, kid rock and all the rest wouldnt be around today.
If your old enough to remember, then you'll know why its a sad day.. if you're to young, go download some music and see for yourself.

That's wierd, you usually see the johnny-come-lately thug rappers get shot, not an old-school guy, of whom many so-called rap fans don't know about.

Its crazy to kill anyone. I mean jeeze wtf is up with the world now aday. People act like they can just go shoot someone for the hell of it.

Its not as bad as people make it out to be. Back in the 1800's and earlier people would duel for sport. You took the duel you had a good chance of dieing. If you didn't take it you was a yellow belly and a coward. The thing is though there was a reason for it back then. It was not always a good reason, but not just mindlessly killing random people (such as the Sniper did).

Grand Master Jay was the DJ. He made all the beats and remixed the tracks and stuff like that. He might have rapped on some of the songs, but I don't think he did much of the rapping.

It's a shame. I don't like rap and I wasn't a fan of Run DMC, but from what I've heard, he was a good guy.

It is a sad day for me. I always wanted to believe that the great ones would just fade away in the sunset, like they do in the movies. It's terrible that a person's life should have to end this way. It's even worse when someone with his kind, and creative nature had to experience it.

OMG. I cracked up when I read that! These bad-ass ganstas think they're untouchable. Well, these are the risks dem ganstas take. I say good riddance. Now there is one less obnoxious "gansta" inspiring wanna be ganstas to act like a$$holes in public! We've been blessed with good shootings in the past, and this is no exception. Let's hope that we also lose Dr. Dre, Snoop Dog, puffy, and nelly.

Exactly.

That's what I said before. Its weird that an old-school guy died in a "gangsta" or "thug" way.

You kind of expect that from crack dealers turned "rappers".

Also, remember the old days, when rap acts were defined by a "DJ" and and "MC"? Actually, the DJ was considered the main talent, and the MC was just the one on the "mike". The guy on the "wheels of steel" was considered the stud.

Case in point: Will Smith. It was: "DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince"

And then Jazz was turned into a mere sideshow.

Anyone remember Young M.C.? He was good. In a clean, wholesome kind of way. Same as DeLaSoul.
