Eleventh Grand Annual Dreamcast Tournament ~ First Voting
Finally, the greatest Dreamcast tournament of the 201st decade has begun!
Overview:
This tournament will determine the best all-around Dreamcast gamer. No more, no less.
During the 11 following weeks, 10 games from 10 different genres will be chosen (by you) and then played for one week exactly, starting with the fighters.
In case you're wondering why it's so grand, it will be a multi-board-competition, to make sure that as many DC-gamers as possible will participate.
Rules:
Specific rules will differ from game to game. For example, some games would be played for the minimum time, some for the maximum score. More on that after the first game is chosen
A rule that always applies is that you will need photographic proof, just to make sure not everyone tries to cheat.
Ranking system:
It's pretty straightforward: Whoever ranks in first in a game gets 10 points, second place gets nine points, blablabla, so finally 11 and below score a whooping zero points. Whoever has the biggest score after the 10th game is played has the right to call himself the "Very best Dreamcast gamer".
I'm currently working on a dedicated ranking to keep track of all participants from all boards. More on that next week.
Boards:
Just if you wanna know, these are the sites that will participate, wether they want to or not:
- Dreamcast-Talk
- Segahub
- Snesorama
- SEGA
- DCEmulation
- Dreamcast-scene
- Senile Team
I am well aware that some boards are probably missing from the list. But this selection should cover most Dreamcast gamers.
... So much for the general part.
I know, I haven't really been as active over here as I should've been. Well, now that I'll try programming for the Dreamcast as well, I'm sure it will change soon. So, as my way to say "hello", I present to you the greatness that is a grand Dreamcast tournament
If you wanna help/have a suggestion/just feel like "saying hi" , either respond to this thread, or send me a PM!

Don't worry, you're not the first person who has that kind of problem xDcube_b3 wrote:I am afraid I don't follow what your trying to say.
*A-hem*, now for the results:
VOTING'S CLOSED NOW.
Here's the final results:
Guilty Gear X: 2
Soul Calibur: 9
Marvel vs. Capcom 2: 2
Virtua Fighter 3tb: 0
Garou: MOTW: 0
Powerstone 2: 2
Dead Or Alive 2: 3
Project Justice: 3
Street Fighter III: 2
JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: 0
King of Fighters '99: 4
Who would've guessed it, Soul Calibur wins by far.
I'll post the specific game rules tomorrow.
The way games are selected will also change a lot. More on that tomorrow, since I'm too sleepy to come up with the rules now...

Re: Eleventh Grand Annual Dreamcast Tournament ~ First Voting
He is running a gaming competition across this and several other related forums. Every week, he will put up a list of DC games from a certain genre and we vote on which one we want to play. Once the game is chosen, some sort of challenge will be issued for that game, and participants try and complete it in the shortest time/with the highest score/whatever. We then provide some sort of evidence to show that we did it.cube_b3 wrote:Welcome to the forums Captain, I am afraid I don't follow what your trying to say.
This rolls on over several weeks across many genres, until ultimately one person is declared more awesome than anyone else. Nobody actually seems to be playing from this forum though, so it might not be worth worrying about.

Yes, thanks to Boney I clearly understand what he is talking about but at the moment I have no time to play games.
It isn't that I'm not playing Dreamcast, it is just that I am not playing games at all.
Hopefully in December I could get back into gaming... I have to give my GRE after 4 weeks so I am studying for that, and then I have mid terms surely after that I could participate in your tournament.

I guess this died. Shame, would've been a great idea, but it's 8 years too late.

It never died
It's just that nobody seems to care.
