I'm currently running Firefox 4 Beta 4 on my Thinkpad and Firefox 4 Beta 2/Opera 10.5x on my workstation.

Re: Post your web browser!!
I used Chrome for a while.. But for some reason it would find intervals throughout use to not recognize my internet connection, so it's back to Firefox.

Page loading. The browser will just stall completely. I thought 5.0.1 was supposed to fix it, but I still have issues on all my machines.|darc| wrote:Safari in OS X, Chrome in Windows

Firefox. I rely too much on a few plugins like Firebug and PageSaver and have no real need to change, I've played with Chrome and it seems adequate but I have no incentive to switch.

Re: Post your web browser!!
I've never liked Safari. The earlier versions seemed too slow and now it seems to be too buggy. At my old job, almost every computer had the bug xylene referred to. It drove me absolutely insane, so I nerfed Safari on every computer and replaced it with Firefox. If I were on an Intel-based mac at work, I'd use Chrome — but alas, I'm chained to a G4.bizzle wrote:Page loading. The browser will just stall completely. Re: Post your web browser!!
Been using Firefox the last few years + WOT & AdBlockPlus.
If I ever had to switch, it would be to either Opera or Chrome, since they're good in different ways. But I'm pretty loyal, and quite happy with Firefox. So unless it turns to crap overnight I'll be on it for a while to come.

Work: IE8. They put Firefox on their trusted software list, but not a single plug-in or add-on. Retards
Home: I flitter between Firefox and Chrome. I tried a Firefox beta with Tab Candy which was awesome.
Phone: Opera, because there's nothing better.

Chromium at home/work and Opera Mobile everywhere else. Smartphones took the P in PC and put it in... Phone. Yeah, that makes sense.

Re: Post your web browser!!
Work: Firefox on Windows XP. Too many useful extensions, particularly development tools.
Laptop: Firefox on Mac OS X. Given that Flash tends to heat the machine up a lot, when it's not crashing, it's unusable without AdBlock Plus / FlashBlock. Running Flash in a separate process, as Chrome and Safari do, helps with the crashing (at least it doesn't take out the whole browser), but doesn't help with the CPU usage at all. In Chrome, it actually seems to make it worse...
Desktop (when it's running Windows 7): Firefox.
Desktop (when it's running Linux): Currently, Firefox. Previously, Chrome. Firefox on Linux is kind of slow, but Chrome on Linux actually seems to be marginally faster than Chrome on Windows, and it can run Flash as a separate process, so a Flash crash won't bring down the whole browser (and Flash is even more unstable on Linux than it is on Mac OS X). The only reason I don't run Chrome anymore is extensions. That, and I stuck an i7 and an SSD in there - the speed difference between Firefox and Chrome is not noticeable anymore.

Firefox. Partly out of habit (been a user since before it was called Firefox, and a Mozilla Suite user before that), partly because it tends to be a "supported browser" on narrowly-coded/tested sites, partly because of NoScript, and partly because it's easily installed on almost any OS I'd want to use (and for those where it's not easily installed, none of the other major browsers are either).

Because everyone and their grandma uses it now, it's not as cool as it used to be, but I mostly use Firefox.
Sometimes, I use the Chromium based Iron for privacy.

Re: Post your web browser!!
Switched to Chrome in OSX on my MacBook running 10.6. Using it in Windows exclusively has converted me on my other systems capable of running it. It's a hell of a lot better than Safari 5. The speed is amazing, even on a three year old machine (2.16ghz Core 2 Duo 4MB L2 cache, 2GB RAM DDR2-667, Intel GMA950 video). The only thing I don't like about Chrome are the tabs being on the top, but I can live with it.
