I grabbed it this morning, it seems decent. I've never really got Radiohead- I've liked a handful of singles but they're not really my thing, maybe this will change my mind.

It is DRM free and 160KBPS. So far I think it's pretty good (four songs in) - it's different, but I can't quite categorize the material yet.

If I were a fan, I'd pay $5-6 for the download and then get it in FLAC on *emonoi*.

I see where you are coming from, but, in all honesty, I paid 5 USD for it and I'll end up buying the physical copy. I wasn't looking for FLAC. In fact, FLAC pisses me off because it's so much larger and I really can't tell a huge difference. I don't know - I think it's an alright move. I guess I would have liked maybe at least 192 KBPS.

I would of prefered v2 since even the lame people consider that to be transparent. Only things I get in FLAC are live shows since they really suffer from lossless, but that is abot it. Although, if you are buying something you want it the best quality if they had of provided FLAC then everybody could of made it what ever format they wanted. Oh, well guess it doesn't matter if I like it (I paid 0 for it since I didn't know if I'll like it or not) I might spend my money on the CD (the discbox is too espensive for my right now).

Zero works.

I'm downloading it right now for free. I haven't heard much Radiohead, so I'm not sure whether or not I'll like it. If I do like it, I'll go back and pay some money for it.

I don't get it. So they let you download it for free, or pay as much money as you want for it? It doesn't seem to make much sense to me...

MP3 sounds like shit. Some people can hear it, some can't. Some people use earbuds, some people use well-driven Bose floorstanding speakers.

STFU.

I have to admit, it is a little strange to just name your price. But it definitely falls in tune with independent artists that have their music online with a Paypal donation link, so I'd say the concept is quite appropriate. At any rate, I would certainly love to know the results of this to see how it affects sales.

I paid a dollar. Does that get me into heaven?

I'm downloading it now, hopefully it's worth my precious dollar. OK Computer had some good tracks, but that's really the only album of theirs I've given a serious listen.

Is there any official album cover yet? I wouldn't mind having album art for my iTunes library.

Thats what I've been looking for, Album art. I've only com across fan amde covers. I can't argue with this release, they did practically release a format for dirt cheap.

We'll probably never know how they did with this, as they refuse to release the official numbers. There are a few sites that have polls and stuff that ask how much people paid, one I saw had 3000 people download it, 1/3 paid $0 and the rest averaged $8 or 4 pounds.
