What are you playing or looking forward to?
Curious as to what everyone is playing right now. I myself don't really have any games that I have not finished and I totally lack the money for anything else. The two next games on my list to buy are Left4Dead on 360, and I have Banjo Kazooie pre ordered at Amazon (which comes with free banjo kazooie n64 game for xbox live arcade).
Anyways, I never thought I would say this, but I have been playing a LOT of halo 3 recently. Not even cause it is that great of a game or anything, as its a pretty bland shooter. Main reason I have been playing is I have made many good friends on live in the past 6 months, and of course Halo 3 is a game everyone has. So it is more for the social aspect than anything. I can't wait till the (gay looking) dashboard update comes out with the 8person private chat, as that will add a lot to my social gaming. Thinking back, LAN gaming is what really got me into playing the first halo. I think that is what it really is, that it is an easy game to pick up and play and everyone knows how to play it.
other than that I have of course been playing Shadowrun for 360 and a bit of Worms HD. What about the rest of you, what are you currently playing and why? Also any games that you are looking forward to?

Re: What are you playing or looking forward to?
I'll be the first person to say "I'm not really playing much of anything any more". I've got a PS3 with GTA4, Oblivion, and Soul Calibur IV, plus a ton of games from PSN. I love all of it - but if my PS3 has seen more than 40 hours playtime since I bought it back in April I'd be very surprised.
Right now I'm playing Final Fantasy VI (Advance) again after Luriden's topic got me in the mood for it. In turn, Final Fantasy VI is getting me in the mood for a replay of FF 7/8/10/12, so that's probably next.
Things I'm looking forward to? Resident Evil 5, Final Fantasy XIII. That's about it, and both are months away, so woohoo. May end up getting a Wii at some point, but I'm taking my wife on a trip to meet my family in the UK for Christmas - so money is a little tight.

Re: What are you playing or looking forward to?
Only really been playing my DS. Havent turned on my wii since about 3 months after launch, I played Rock Band 2 the other day with my brother in law, and I played N64 a little a month ago.
Right now on my DS I am playing all the brain games, ny times crossword, N+ which is awesome, and I just got a hold of the new dragon quest game, DQ IV. Im going to jump into it tonight, and see how it goes.

Re: What are you playing or looking forward to?
I'm still having fun with quick bursts of GTA4 and Halo 3. My roommate bought Mercs 2, which is a fun one too. Otherwise, I play a lot of classic games on the Wii.
It's not that I don't want to play a lot of games, it's just I get this guilty feeling that I should do something productive every time I sit down. I guess my procrastination skills have gone to shit after getting my new job.

Re: What are you playing or looking forward to?
I've been playing way too much AoE2:C. When I get back home to the Wii I'm looking forward to finishing LoZ:TP and playing more of WiiFit (got it a week before I left back to school).

Re: What are you playing or looking forward to?
Been playing a lot of:
Rock Band 2
Call of Duty 4
Rainbow Six Vegas 2
Burnout Paradise
Looking forward to:
Banjo and Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts.
The more I read and see about it, the more that I think it's going to be amazing. I was very sketpical at first, but after seeing some videos it seems like less of a driving game, and more of a puzzle-platformer with driving in it.
Plus BK with the pre-order is awesome. I've been wanting to replay the game, but I hate emulators and the N64 is gone.

I'd love to replay BK too. I preferred it to Mario 64 - BK was just considerably more imaginative in every area.MulletMan13 wrote:Plus BK with the pre-order is awesome. I've been wanting to replay the game, but I hate emulators and the N64 is gone.

Re: What are you playing or looking forward to?
Recently, here are the things that I've been playing:
My annual playthrough of Final Fantasy VII (this would mark my 10th playthrough)
Skies of Arcadia
Spore (probably give up on this one soon, though)
Phoenix Wright: Justice for All (my second time through)
And starting today, Megaman 9
The biggest thing I'm looking forward to this year is Mirror's Edge. It only took one E3 video to convince me this game is going to be amazing. I preordered it almost immediately. And tonight I also preordered Banjo Kazooie mainly due to the free game code for the original. Also, Rhapsody for DS is due out tomorrow, which will be awesome. Next week is Sonic Dark Brotherhood, which I might also try depending on the reviews. I'm also really interested in LittleBigPlanet, though it's another one that I want to see reviews for first.

Re: What are you playing or looking forward to?
I've been playing Vampire: The Masquerade - Redemption with some friends. It's old and the storytelling is cumbersome, but I like the atmosphere more than NWN. I just started playing Crysis Warhead, but I probably won't finish it...just like I didn't finish Crysis. I still play TF2 every once in a while. I'm terribly curious to see how Fallout 3 turns out, but the only game I'm really excited about at the moment is WipEout HD (I don't have a PSP).

Resident Evil 5 and Guitar Hero on Tour
Not played much at all in months.
Banjo Kazooie was incredible, makes me want to dig out my N64 for another go. Never did play Banjo Tooie though, or Conker. I'd pretty much stopped buying games for it by that point.

Re: What are you playing or looking forward to?
That's the exact same feeling I get. That's why I can't get into massive RPG's anymore.pixel wrote:It's not that I don't want to play a lot of games, it's just I get this guilty feeling that I should do something productive every time I sit down.
Recently I've been playing a lot of RTS sort of games. Company of Heroes, Spore, Red Alert (on my laptop). Company of Heroes was pretty good, however I really hated some of the combat models. You'd sit there with a tank brigade against 3 measly Axis riflemen, and constantly miss them with shells and machine gun fire. Spore wasn't good at all. The hour or two I did enjoy was shadowed by shallow gameplay, short missions, and all of the other "fluff" game modes.
Looking forward to Half Life: Episode 3, GTA IV (PC), and Ghostbusters. I was kind of looking forward to L4D, until I saw the gameplay videos. A major factor of zombie games for me is the barricade (for any of those who have played Zombie Panic for HL, you'll know what I'm talking about). It adds a level of tension and fear watching the door slowly inch open as the furniture is budging away. L4D just looks like a corridor shooter with co-op gameplay.
After reviewing this post, I give it the Veggita2099 seal of approval for negative game reviews/previews.

Re: What are you playing or looking forward to?
I was totally disappointed with n+ on the DS. they changed the "physics" of the game, and it just doesn't play the same.
I loved Banjo Kazooie. the final boss was a bitch afair. Banjo Tooie was good, but I didn't feel the same "magic" I did with the original. I never finished it due to putting my n64 away and returning the game to my best friend. The areas were huge in it though, which made some levels where you lost focus in what you were doing. I even played the GBA Banjo kazooie game, which since rare is an amazing game company it played just like the other two games and I had a blast playing it. I totally recommend it.

I know there was that concept art released, but I dont remember a date or anything. Whats the word on that so far. I of course hope there is a 360 version of it, if not my PC can run it. I'm pretty sure I can run it in linux as HL2 plays just fine on it. But if it's a resource hog like TF2, then i dunno.Looking forward to Half Life: Episode 3

Probably the Valve usual: "When it's done, it's done, but done two months to a year after that."Nico0020 wrote: I know there was that concept art released, but I dont remember a date or anything. Re: What are you playing or looking forward to?
I've been playing my Wii nonstop since I got it a couple weeks back. I even loaned my 360 to a close friend who would kill someone to play GTA4.
I've been playing Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, Boom Blox, and Elebits the most. I have Zelda:TP, Super Mario Galaxy, Metroid Prime 3, and some other games that I haven't played yet but I'm saving those. I don't like to play too many games at one time.

Slowly but surely, I'm playing Tales of Vesperia (why did I have to tell my roommate I wouldn't progress the story without him around). Other than that, I'm not playing much.

Re: What are you playing or looking forward to?
OH yeah.. Fable 2 is another game I am HIGHLY anticipating. I've played through the first one a few times, and love the entire universe that's created.
I agree that Banjo-Tooie didn't have the same 'magic' as the first one. I think killing off Bottles (I don't think it counts as a spoiler since it's 10 years old) was a bad idea-- I absolutely hated the guy that gave you abilities. Plus being able to be Banjo or Kazooie alone led to even MORE backtracking (there was enough in the first game, but it wasn't this bad.)
The levels themselves were gigantic, but they weren't really packed with all too much in them. The best part about the first game was how everything felt so large and detailed. There was a lot of fluff in the second, and the story of the Jinjos did absolutely nothing for me. Regardless, I think that I got my GameCube shortly after getting that game, and it sunk into the closet and out of my life. I really would have liked to get to the end-- another quiz show and awesome boss battle.

I have been playing Rock Band 2, Guitar Hero 3, and Battlefield: Bad Company on my xbox 360. I dont enjoy playing video games very much anymore and pretty much only play when I am on live with someone else or the ocassional Rock Band get together.

I've got an RRoD Xbox 360 with a void warranty right now.
Right now, I'm a little tight on money, but I plan to buy some washers or whatever and repair it (and keep it for the exclusives ).
I'm probably going to buy PS3 soon, but as I said, tight on the moneyz
And as for all of you talking about Banjo, I seemed to enjoy Banjo Tooie the most, still they were both good

Re: What are you playing or looking forward to?
I just started playing Arcanum for the first time. It's pretty good so far, but it's not up there with Fallout 1/2, which will forever (apparently) be the bar for PC RPGs of that style.
I also just beat Condemned 2. Worth playing.
I also was playing Stranglehold. Pretty unimpressive. GTA IV I'm like 5 hours into, and I'm not too impressed in most ways. The world is really good, but the missions are pretty bland so far. The music is also terrible, and I don't like a lot of the "feel" of the game world as much as, say, Vice City. I DO like their choice of Bosnians/Eastern Europeans/Russians as the main selection of characters though.
