Which, contrary to you, means I don't like the Sony store because Sony is the only one that doesn't sell point cards. And if they did offer cards, I would still be thoroughly annoyed because everything ends with .99, plus there's random change for tax, meaning that I would always have random money floating around on the account. Same reason iTunes cards annoys me.
But that's still not as bad as Microsoft. I hate the 360 point system despite them offering cards because their entire systems is so convoluted. $1 for 80 points? WTF was their logic behind this terrible idea? There was an Oblivion item I wanted that was 50 points, but buying it would screw up my point account. What the hell can you do with 30 points on Marketplace?
Nintendo's system isn't perfect either, but at least they use a logical system (1 point per penny) and keep everything rounded up to a dollar. That helps, but choosing your point amount would be nice too. It's not something I deal with, though, because as I said before, I just buy point cards.
Yea Microsoft could have at least used 1 cent to 1 point like Nintendo. However at least with Microsoft there are things you can buy when you drop below $5 worth of points. You want to buy a $6 game on Wii you spend $10. Then you have 400 points ($4) you can't do nothing with. With Xbox live you can use that money to buy add-ons to certain games (granted nothing wonderful in that price range), or you can buy tv shows for 2 bucks which I think it great. I don't care a bit to pay $2 for a tv show just to avoid the commercials. If Microsoft wasn't such buttholes and would allow us to use external hard drives I would download quite a few tv shows, but I am not going to spend a outlandish amount of money on their elite 120MB HD when every other HD pretty much in existence is cheaper.
I can see from a points card user your reasons though, although I don't understand why you want to use point cards? I mean most banks offer debit cards which work like a credit card now? I think there are even prepaid credits cards you can buy now.
In any case I guess its safe to say all could use improvements. Personally I think you should be able to resale Digital downloads. I mean if I go to the store and buy a game I can turn around and sell it at any time for whatever amount I want. Digital downloads apparently are not much (if at all) cheaper then hard copies, so why can't we resale them? Shoot right now you can buy shivering isles cheaper on a hard copy then you can for the freakin digital download!!
