Accident
Yeah, so I got into an accident on 2/13 at around 8:15 AM taking my 3 yr old son to preschool. I had my 7 yr old, 1 yr old, and 8 month old daughters in the car also.
Heading to school, there was a township snow plow in front of me going slow so i wnt to pass it and as a approached it it turned onto a road to its left and I impacted it's rear driver's quarter.
Woke up to screaming crying kid and blood in my eyes. I was not wearing my seatbelt but had made surethe kid were strapped in tight b4 we left. I looked down and saw that my right leg made an L shape above the knee, took a deep breath, smiled, and began to talk to my kids, asking loudly if everyone was alright, foucusing on the two older since they could respond with speach. I then realized it was blood in my eyes as my 7 year old screamed/ sobbed " are you ok daddy?!" I told her i was fine , all the while an emt plowing a few houses down was checking on us, traffic was stopping, and ppl were arriving on scene.
I then saw my son's bloody face. He was in the middle in the back of the car, which only had a lap belt and he had struch the armrest between the two seats in front. I continued to talk to my kids, telling them Daddy was Ok, that it would be Ok, as peramedics arrived on scene with the ambulances. They got the two younger girls out, leaving them strapped into their car seats as make-shift flatboards and got my daughter onto one and in an ambulance. They covered my son and I with a towel and removed the roof as I had a broken leg and he had head trauma and would remove us from te rear of te car. They got Isaac out and I saw him close by and yelled at the paramedics to NOT move me. To WAIT until he was in an ambulance and could not hear me scream as they pulled me from the car. They did so but I don't remember screaming... and remember the ride in the ambulance was rather bumpy and unplesant.
Unfortunately I do not have pics yet and I'm sorry for spelling errors, I'm using the PS3 browser right now as my PC is not connected, but will make corrections and add pics of car and sone and self after it's online. I truely feel very lucky to only have a broken femur and head abrasions and the other kids are doing just fine, my son (Isaac) just has a fat lip and facial bruising.

Re: Accident
One VERY LUCKY MF. I was prob only going 40 mph when passing but still. Its funny, my aunt called me and talked to me in the hospital about that and the EMT's commented about it to my ex-aunt in law (she sees them in hte bar a lot) how you focus on your kids and all else be damned. The EMTs were amazed that I was staying consious I guess and showed no signs of pain or worry until the kids were safe... but I thank you... first dayt out of hospital and I'm doing very well for having a steel rod in my leg.DuffMan wrote:One lucky MF. Another one for the "old games that could use an update" thread... Demolition Racer.

Re: Accident
After all the damage, good to know they were no fatalities. Get well soon and your children too.

Re: Accident
Wow... was not expecting this many replies. VERY appreciated! VERY! Thank you all. I finally had a BM today and feel much lighter, the cramping had been going on for hours. Fun stuff, yay stool softener! All the kids are doing well. My ex and ex in-laws took the kids to a restaurant the other night and everyone in the restaurant stopped talking and stared at him. Poor guy... my daughter took it upon herself to explain to the waitress at like 200 words a minute.

Re: Accident
Holy fuck, that sucks. I hope that wasn't too traumatizing for your kids, especially Isaac. Best wishes to you guys as you recover.

Re: Accident
my forehead impacted the windshield which broke and raked glass across it as my head hit the dash pad and slid down it over the glass pieces.
My kids are a little nervous riding in cars now but otherwise seem ok. Thank God.

Re: Accident
And I just got my fines today... one for no seatbelt, one for my daughter's boosterseat, which is pending inv as she WAS fastened properly, and one because:
the last one I don't get. Because I was not sure if he was going to turn in front of me without using his blinkers I should not have tried to pass him?Ticket wrote:the def moved his vehicle from a single lane without ascertaining that the movement could be made with safety, resulting in a crash

Re: Accident
Glad to see you guys are doing better. Did you get out of those ridiculous fines? How is your leg?
My friend got in an accident this past weekend; during the rain a mobile home hit him and made him spin out of control into a tree.
Luckily he was wearing his seatbelt, he is banged up but he hasn't broken anything and has been released from the hospital.
